I think the word has gotten out. I just think the general interest isn't there, which is sad. Hopefully more people can scrounge up some cash.

The original 35mm film elements could be scanned at 4k resolution and they'd look amazing I'm sure. The best most of us collectors have available are 16mm home movie prints. There's only so much detail to be seen on these scaled back versions. 1080 would probably show the most detail from this format.

Check "Hog Wild" by Laurel and Hardy. It's played extensively in that film.

I recently picked up the C-W Films Our Gang silent DVD release of "Your Own Back Yard" and "The Love Bug". "Your Own Back Yard" is finally available to the public and is looking great! "The Love Bug" is also here in the best quality currently available. Both shorts have delightful soundtracks from Ben Model that compliment the films well. As an added bonus on the disc, a short segment of an interview with Hal Roach is included. Seeing as how Our Gang releases have been few and far between, it's nice to have something "new" to view. I highly recommend this one.

Exclusive, which was also apparently known as Excel, was a home movie company in Chicago. They released the 66 Pathe Gang silents during the late '30s and early '40s in various formats - anywhere from a full two reels down to a smaller fragment. You'll know an Exclusive print by the opening title card that features the Our Gang kids around an old fence. I don't think they had access to all 66 films. I can think of several films off the top of my head that I don't believe they released in any format. It seems that Kodak may have released a few that Exclusive didn't. BTW, I came across some old notes that I had from Robert Demoss, and listed next to "Under the Tent" was "Circus Fever". So we still may need to confirm what film this is.

I'm pretty sure it's from the latter half of "The Big Show".

I updated the link above yet again. I added another 90 seconds of additional footage to the film. Thanks to Joe for pointing out some of the missing parts.

I'm editing the post to point to a new version of the video. There were a couple small issues with the previous post (including two brief additional shots added).

Here is the Our Gang silent film "Seeing the World". This version is taken from a 16mm film that was scanned for me a few years ago. The upside here is that the entire image on the film was scanned. So there's no cropping of the picture around the borders. It's not the most exciting Our Gang film but it has Jimmy Finlayson and Stan Laurel in there to help it along. Music by the Beau Hunks. Enjoy!

Let's dig up another ancient thread, shall we?
Here's an updated edit of "Dog Days" 10 years and 2 months after I first worked on it and posted it.
It has much more footage than that old edit and is much better quality. Music by the Beau Hunks. Enjoy!

Here it is folks. The last Our Gang Pathe silent to cross off your list. I used two sources to compile this version of the film. It is missing many intertitles in the first half, but otherwise, looks to be mostly complete. Soundtrack by the Beau Hunks. Special thanks to those involved that helped make this happen. You know who you are. Enjoy!

Hey all,
I posted this to Youtube a while back but I believe I set it as "unlisted". Here is my third attempt to piece together "Telling Whoppers". I previously posted two older versions to this forum, but the links are dead. I used four sources in this version. Two of which were from my personal collection. This is the most complete version of this film currently available to the public.
Enjoy!
(More to come!)

Well, I decided to be the $18 guinea pig. The cases are nice, but that's about it. These are the same old, tired versions of these films in nearly unwatchable condition. They did cop my edits of Thundering Fleas and Buried Treasure from Youtube and put them on the discs in all their pixelated glory. Matter of fact, they probably culled all of these from Youtube. Abysmal quality. Unless you haven't seen these films already and are desperate, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

It would be nice just to have better transfers of the same old footage at the very least.
