Froggy is my favorite. That voice of his was just down right hilarious to hear lol. Jackie Condon from the silents i would have to say was the best from those shorts. I also liked Kendall Breezy Bribane even though he only lasted a season.

Easy for me to answer: Stymie Beard
He always seemed to be the wily one - no matter what was going on, he always seemed to triumph and had a great attitude.

Alfalfa, as I thought he was the funniest character of all of them, and Carl Switzer was also a great actor!!

Jackie Condon too. Did he ever do any talkies?

Tommy Bond, or Scotty. Jackie Condon too. Did he ever do any talkies? No, after appearing in 78 of the first 81 silents, he missed making it to the talkies by 4 months. -- RJH

tommy/butch gets my vote. He showed he can play different types of charaters, and he is a nice guy in person too.

I would have to say Spanky. He was always my favorite. I have an autographed picture from him somewhere in my parents' attic, and I actually called him and talked to him briefly around 1984. It was actually kind of disappointing. He wasn't exactly thrilled to have me call him at home. But he's still my favorite, particularly in the earlier years.

I always heard Spanky was very bitter later in life. I think it's mostly because he was short on cash and never received any residuals.
I saw an auction on eBay a few times for the rude nasty letter that Spanky wrote in reply to the sender who sent a photo asking to return it autographed. He wrote that he doesn't sign unauthorized photos, and if I remember correctly, he made fun of his spelling and/or grammar. I don't know if I would have ever wanted to see him in person or not, knowing his attitude towards his fans.

Of all the Rascals I had written/spoken to, he was the only one who was unpleasant about it. I was only 14 at the time, so I had no idea then why he was so bitter.

Joe Cobb, Stymie, Farina, Wheezer (he reminded me so much of my younger brother Ralph) and Mary Jackson.

Although I consider Chubby to be the funniest Our Gang-er, Peggy Cartwright is my all-time favorite. Though she only appeared in the first six "Our Gang" shorts, she was the prettiest leading lady of them all.
