An elemental chemistry anagram is much better than an animal one any day, it's far more original, but 3 x 'Y' in one anagram was a big clue to this mystery.

I didn't have much time last night so picked the first title I thought of that I haven't done yet. Now I can be more obscure.
BALL RIDING CHRIS = RICHARD BILLINGS
NEW FARCE HOTEL

Obscure is the right word. As far as I can figure it isn't an anagram of an Our Gang title, nor does it seem to be an anagram of any of the actors, either kids or adults. So I'm left with character names. I'm not familiar with the earlier shorts so it could be a name from one of those but after spending close to two hours rearranging the letters I haven't been able to form any names that I recognise or that provide a match on Our Gang Wikia, when I enter them. So unless
NEW FARCE HOTEL is an anagram of...
CARL OWEN FETHE
CHARLTON E. FEWE
HORACE NEWLEFT
WALTER O' FENCHE
or FREELAN THE COW
I haven't got a clue but I am pretty certain that it isn't
FEAR THEE CLOWN
WHEEL FART, ONCE
FACE THROWN EEL
CLAW FEET HERON
or
ACE NETHER WOLF

Richard Billings is a rather obscure character from the silent era, so I picked another, though this is an adult character with a bizarre last name who was in just one film, which I hope you will watch.

Thank you for the clue, because without it I'd never in a million years have come up with
FAWN OCHELTREE
That name really looks as if it's a not very good anagram of something else but I'm definitely not going to try and figure out what it might have been an anagram of.

Before I spend any further time pondering the anagram can I ask, have you perhaps accidentally included 2 x G and only one x F when it should have been the other way around, 2 x F and one x G? I ask because the obvious solution is...
FAST FREIGHT but with the letters in your anagram I can only get GAST FREIGHT. If however your anagram, has an entirely different solution let me know and I'll try to solve it.

The anagram is correct; there is a different, real solution. I didn't notice how close it was to Fast Freight, which would have been STRAFE FIGHT.
