I have a lot of theme songs from tv shows and commercials that are my favorites, but the one that I'm thinking of now is the theme song from the 1971-73 tv western, "Alias Smith and Jones." I find the theme song's tune, especially during the second season of the show, to be catchy and upbeat.
Do you have any favorites?

A bunch of 'em (though some of these are favorite theme songs, but not favorite shows): The Jeffersons, Barney Miller, The Munsters (second "rocked-up" version), Super Chicken, The Rockford Files, Third Rock From The Sun, King Of The Hill, All In The Family, The Bullwinkle Show, etc. etc. etc.

- You Can't Do That On Television (anyone who watched it never forgot that opening theme or the animation!)
- Clarissa Explains It All (na-na-na-na.... na-na-na-na-na-na....)
- I Love Lucy
There aren't too many other theme songs that I actually cared about listening to. Those above were the ones that really made an impression.

I like the followning songs:
Third Place: Baretta
Second Place: Perry Mason
First Place: Hawaii-Five-Oh
The grade ten band played the first place winner at my school last year. I love it.

Any time I drive through run-down neighborhoods, in my mind I hear the Sanford and Son theme song. Sometimes I get the Hawaii 5-0 song stuck in my head, though I have no idea why - I have never seen the show.
My favorite theme though, and favorite television show, is probably Law & Order. Especially the episodes with Jerry Orbach.

Two other theme songs from shows I like as well: "Hillstreet Blues" and "Greatest American Hero."

No seriously, I liked the Charmed theme song although I'm not a fan of the show. Roswell's theme got me hooked on Dido. Buffy The Vampire Slayer had a good theme although it got annoying after 7 seasons and 7 DVD packs that my dad and sister watch OVER and OVER again.

There a lot of theme songs that I like even to this day, but (and you'll laugh), there was another show that we watched at the same time as Hill Street Blues' original run, but when it came on, we would just listen to the opening theme until the theme ended and then switch it for the show we wanted to watch. It sure helped when that theme finally was released on a record. (Yes, friends, pre-VHS and pre-CD.)

My Favorite Theme Song..... The Adventures of Pete & Pete theme song, 'Hey Sandy' by Polaris! Brings back memories!  The most amazing song used for a Nickelodeon TV Show. |
