I'm not keeping track of how many pics I've posted, but if I go over the limit I promise I'll punish myself with 4 teasthingysfuls of... Yikes! You can stow the castor oil, Scotty1958! :-) Switzer lifted his limit of ten photos per member, so you can feel free to post as many favorites as you'd like.

Indeed it is. Boy, it's funny how far we've come since then. Nowadays, a child actor wouldn't even be able to do a pratfall. Times change and not always for the better. I think there was more fun for kids in the Rascals movies than there would be nowadays, now I think it is simply a job. Most of the excitement and fun would be taken out of the filming with the use of doubles, CGI and safety equipment. I quite agree with you there, Switzer. Just think how much fun it probably was for Bobby Hutchins and the others in The Gang to ride those motorcycles that way. It's an experience I'm sure they would never forget, or ever have traded for a more sanitized filmmaking environment.

From "Curley" (1947), Hal Roach's failed attempt at recreating Our Gang. This particular film was a remake of "Teacher's Pet". Though here, the teacher (Frances Rafferty, the lady sitting) was given an athletic side, something Miss Crabtee would have never been allowed to have! The boy kneeling is Dale Belding ("Speck", a clone of a combination of Alfalfa and Mickey Daniels). Kathleen Howard (who frequently played W.C. Fields' wife in his 1930's movies) is helping her up.
