Left handed Harry and three right handers in Fern Carter's class Goes with this illustration for an Our Gang book published in 1929. The sums on the blackboard are exactly the same BUT has anyone noticed that several of them are wrong? At the back of the room... 4 x 2 = 9 is marked correct although the answer is obviously 8 6 x 2 = 10 is also wrongly marked correct On the board at the side of the room... 68436/25 has the answer 273 when in fact the correct answer is 2738.52 Likewise 464 - 342 is not 22 but should be 122 Attachments:

A scene from the Glenn Tryon comedy "45 Minutes From Hollywood" (1926). This scene was almost identical to one found in "Thundering Fleas". L to R: Joe, Jackie, Mickey, Farina, Jay, Johnny, and Skooter. The Roach staff celebrating Bob McGowan's tenth anniversary with the Our Gang series. During the production of "Bargain Day". Gang members present are Chubby, Mary Ann, Dorothy, Stymie, Wheezer, Pete, Shirley, Farina, and two stand-ins for Jackie Cooper and Donald Haines. Stan Laurel is behind the Jackie Cooper double. Oliver Hardy is behind Bob. Hardy's right (our left) is (I believe) Ben Shipman, who was Stan and Oliver's agent. To Hardy's right (our left) is the little boy that played "Bologna" in "Bargain Day". Tony Campanaro is holding the drum next to Chubby. And that mustached cop way in the back? Is that Tiny Sandford? Pete and the boys from the Gang visit Stan on the set of "Wrong Again" (1929). Tommy "Butch" Bond with Harry Woods and the Boys in the last film Roach did for MGM, "Block-Heads" (1938). Farina and the Boys play a game of dice in this publicity shot. Circa 1928-29. Spanky and Darla visit Ollie and Stan (or Bert and Alf) on the set of "Our Relations" (1936). Farina and Skooter with Oliver Hardy and his pants in "Thundering Fleas" (1936). The first Sons of the Desert-Our Gang reunion (1980). Back row: Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas, Edith Fellows, Eugene "Pineapple" Jackson, Marvin "Bubbles" Strin, Joe Cobb, longtime Sons member and fan Bob Satterfield, Ernie "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison, Leonard Landy, George "Spanky" McFarland, Tommy "Butch" Bond, Delmar Watson, and Butch's son, Tommy Bond, Jr. Front row: Fan Armand Lewis, Dorothy "Echo" DeBorba, Verna Kornman (mother of Mildred and Mary), Peggy Ahern, Mildred Kornman, co-author of the famous Little Rascals book Richard W. Bann (jokingly referred to in the book as "a suspicious looking unknown", and longtime Sons member and fan Earl Kress (who would soon be asked by Hanna-Barbera to write for the animated Rascals series) Alfalfa and Alfalfa in the infamous 1950's TV Guide reunion (where Alfie reportedly swore at his former teacher Fern Carter).

Only one term can describe this ad: LOL! With Laurel and Hardy, Pitts and Todd, Charley Chase, the Taxi Boys' taxi, Pete, Spanky, Dorothy, Dickie, Stymie, and Brisbane (?). "Smile when the raindrops fall, dear..." Joe and Joe. From the 1950's TV guide reunion. Dorothy, Tommy, Mrs. Carter, Spanky, Dickie, and Stymie all ready for Christmas. Another colorized still by yours truly. From "Thundering Fleas" (1926). L to R: Jay, Joe, Mary, Skooter, Mickey, George B. French, Farina, Johnny, and Jackie. Attachments:

I always wondered why Henry was billed as "Jerry Wilson" in this film. Perhaps it was a stage name. In fact, I don't think Henry's real name ever appeared in any Our Gang material (save for the Maltin and Bann book, which is what all of the online material uses for Lee's information). I wonder if the kids referred to Henry as "Jerry" off screen. It would explain why early drafts of the script for "The Awful Tooth" feature a character named "Jerry". This is interesting and quite puzzling. However, there is studio documentation that lists Henry Lee. At first glance, I've come across such reference in my notes for both "Follies of '38" and "The Awful Tooth." At least nobody's calling him "Alvin Buckelew" anymore.

If looks could kill I'd be dead... Tommy Bond in a short called "I'll Take Vanilla" 1934 (not Our Gang)
