This ought to come in handy for those participating in the film discussion. It's the most complete version of the film currently available to the public, and the last film that I worked on in my restoration project. As always, thanks to James for providing a few brief bits of footage included here. Enjoy!

Try more like $10. It's a fairly common film that turns up on Ebay often. A 16mm print would be more desirable anyhow.

A couple bits of info on Saturday Morning's missing footage: The film starts with Waldemar being pampered with breakfast in bed by the maids. Waldemar's mother comes in and appears to be annoyed by a loving hug from her son. She tells the butler to "make sure Waldemar takes his morning ride." The Mickey footage follows and goes all the way up until he is dreaming of hacking up his cello (or whatever instrument it is) with a hatchet. The Maple and Sorghum footage begins here with Aunty Jackson telling the mule to wake the boys.

I accidentally skipped "The Glorious Fourth". My edit from Youtube is probably the most complete. I did just what mtw suggested in this case. I don't know if anyone bothered to copy that one off and circulate it.

First off, let me make it clear that while some of the films out there are derived from my edits, these edits, many times, were made with the generosity and help of fellow forum members and collectors that provided footage to me to work with. Most of it is not MY footage, so to speak. I just worked with it, with the intent of sharing what I was able to. I fully respect the wishes of the actual owners of said footage and always tried to stay within those boundaries.
Off the top of my head (seriously), here's what I remember...
1. Our Gang - the CW Films version is the best available. (The fact that this film has appeared on many bootleg sets could factor into why we haven't seen much else from CW Films treasure trove of footage!) 2. Fire Fighters - I agree that the OldNick08 version on Youtube appears to be the most complete. 3. Young Sherlocks - I did a similar edit to what OldNick08 did, but my version had a bit more footage. I've never made it public. Otherwise, his is the most complete available 4. One Terrible Day - The Exclusive films print that I have a transfer of is the most complete version I know of. I never made it public either, but apparently, someone else did. 5. A Quiet Street - I have a short bit of extra footage from this film, otherwise I have the same copy as everyone else. 6. Saturday Morning - My edit of this film has more footage than the common version. There is a nearly complete print with intertitles that is not publicly available. 7. The Big Show - I've got what everyone else has on this one 8. The Cobbler - I did an edit using the TCM aired version of the film along with some of my other sources. Not publicly available. Otherwise, the TCM airing or my old edit if you can find them. 9. The Champeen! - Not sure what's best on this. 10. Boys To Board - My old edit is the most complete available. I had it on Youtube at one point. 11. A Pleasant Journey - My old edit is the most complete, but also available without my permission. Cobbling this together with the TCM airing would be a good idea at some point. 12. Giants Vs Yanks - My old edit is the best publicly available. CW Films has mentioned possibly releasing a better print in the future. 13. Back Stage - I got what you got! 14. Dogs of War! - The Cabin Fever version is best. 15. Lodge Night - The complete Blackhawk Video print is best. 16. Fast Company - My old Youtube edit is probably most complete. I have some better quality footage, but never added it. 17. Stage Fright - My old edit is the most complete available. 18. July Days - I have a bit of extra footage for this one. Otherwise, whatever's out there is the best. 19. Sunday Calm - My current edit of this is most complete, but not publicly available. Otherwise, the ReelClassicDVD version is good. 20. No Noise - My latest edit is the most complete. This was something I posted to Youtube I believe. 21. Derby Day - Cabin Fever is the best source. 22. Tire Trouble - My latest edit is most complete. I don't think I made this public. I believe CW Films has a better source, also unavailable publicly 23. Big Business - I got what you got 24. The Buccaneers - My old edit is probably the most complete version. 25. Seein' Things - My latest edit is the most complete. The TCM airing was good, but missing some footage. 26. Commencement Day - My old edit is the most complete available 27. It's a Bear - My old edit is the most complete available. 28. Cradle Robbers - My old edit is the most complete available. 29. Jubilo Jr. - My latest edit is the most complete. My old one is probably floating out there someplace. 30. High Society - Not sure. 31. The Sundown Ltd - Not sure 32. Every Man For Himself - My old edit has the most footage. 33. Mysterious Mystery - I did an edit that has about 2 seconds of extra footage than whatever else is out there. Not publicly available 34. The Big Town - Not sure 35. Circus Fever - My latest edit is most complete. Not publicly available. 36. Dog Days - My old edit is probably the most complete. The TCM print was of better quality 37. The Love Bug - Not sure 38. Ask Grandma - My latest edit is most complete. Don't know if that got out there or not. 39. Shootin' Injuns - I don't know 40. Official Officers - I have what everyone else has 41. Mary Queen of Tots - I have what everyone else has 42. Boys Will Be Joys - Not sure 43. Better Movies - I did an edit of this last year, adding some missing footage and intertitles. Not available publicly. 44. Your Own Back Yard - My latest edit is most complete. This film was shared without my permission and was never meant to be available in that state. 45. One Wild Ride - My old edit is probably most complete. 46. Good Cheer - I did an edit of this film that is the most complete version, but never shared it. Otherwise, I'm not sure which version is best 47. Buried Treasure - The version on the Legend Films DVD is the best 48. Monkey Business - probably what you already have is best 49. Baby Clothes - ? 50. Uncle Tom's Uncle - Check "The Lucky Corner" website. 51. Thundering Fleas - My old edit was the most complete available. 52. Shivering Spooks - I don't know 53. The Fourth Alarm - Whatever's out there is good 54. War Feathers - My old edit was the most complete, but I think I left some footage out by accident. 55. Seeing the World - My most recent edit is the most complete. Not publicly available 56. Telling Whoppers - My most recent edit is the most complete. Not publicly available 57. Bring Home the Turkey - About 7 minutes of this film can be occasionally found on Ebay under the name "Turkey Troubles". Buy it, have it transferred to DVD, and you got what I've seen. 58. Ten Years Old - ReelClassicDVD's version is good. 59. Love My Dog - Whatever's out there. I forget 60. Tired Businessmen - Whatever's out there 61. Baby Brother - Cabin Fever version is best 62. Chicken Feed - I have an edit of this one that is the most complete. Not available to the public. Otherwise, what's on your booted set is best 63. Olympic Games - Dunno 64. Playin' Hookey - There are two bootlegged versions that, when pieced together, form a good chunk of the film. There is a more complete version that is publicly unavailable. 65. The Smile Wins - ReelClassicDVDs version.

I was unaware of the "Mysterious Mystery" footage you mentioned. Thanks for compiling this post.

Clearly, no major company is interested in officially releasing these films. Otherwise, it would have been done by now. I used to own "The Old Wallop" on film, but did not have the finances to have it transferred to a usable format. It was a 9.5mm film. There are very few services in the US that do that format. Furthermore, another owner of the film has interest in making the film available on dvd or blu-ray for profit. However, we all know how easy it is to copy discs. So I understand the owner's hesitance, since he spent a lot of money to get the film and have it transferred. Let us not forget that some of these lost films are still under copyright. So now you have to deal with the copyright holders in order to release the films. Lots of hurdles to jump. The bootleg sets are the easiest way to obtain these films. However, they were put together at the expense of others that used their money to have the films transferred. It's not cheap. I completed about 25-30 of my own edits the silents. They were cobbled together using various prints to make the films as complete as possible. Some unscrupulous person decided to sell some of them on amazon.com without my consent. While I am not happy about this, I also realize that some of the footage I used was not originally mine either. So, although I did not sell the films for profit, I probably stepped on some feet as well. If you'd like to see these films, your best bet is to try and find film prints of them and pay to have them transferred yourself. Just beware that there are a lot of shoddy film transfer services that do poor quality work. Those are the ones that (usually) cost less.

Giants Vs. Yanks (1923) - My print of this is incomplete and of atrocious quality, which seriously affects how well the film is received... Based on what I can see of this film, I'd say it's solid but not spectacular... I guess I don't feel the plot is very strong, and it could be interesting to see the complete film. www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1y4HULaHP0This looks like my version of the film that somebody posted to Youtube, but with different opening credits. It should be nearly complete.

Wow! While I don't actively participate in this thread, I do read over the reviews. I was particularly interested in what others thought of "Choo-Choo!". I was totally surprised to see the somewhat negative reviews. I always thought this one was one of the very best of the talkies. Don't get me wrong. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, of which I respect here. I just didn't realize that, across the board, this one wasn't considered one of the greats.
