So I have the opportunity to purchase an 8mm copy of "Donkey Delivery Company" which of course is a segment of the long lost original 1st Our Gang film.
The only problem I have is I've never seen one come to market so I have no idea on what the value of the film would even be.
I am told they were offered a price at one time of $150 from a dealer and they turned it down.
What price would YOU pay for this long lost piece of film art?

I'm not a film collector (by that I mean I don't collect reels, I collect DVDs). So I can't say for sure if the actual film reel could be deemed 'valuable.' I do know that DDC has been released on DVD in the past, and has been combined with other home movie copies of the first Our Gang film. That edit has also received a few DVD releases. Long story short, it's (thankfully!) not nearly as rare as it once was.

The lady seems to be in need of emergency money but I didn't want to insult her by low balling her either. I'm thinking $50 for it would be reasonable.

Try more like $10. It's a fairly common film that turns up on Ebay often. A 16mm print would be more desirable anyhow.

Also, look out for "Who's a Sissy?" That is another fragment. Both of them can be had for cheap. Just wait for it
