Instead of ALFALFA'S DOUBLE (1940), the double would have been ________________________.

Buckwheat, as evidenced by that picture that keeps popping up (thanks to a frequent contributor to the forum) showing Buckwheat Thomas and Billie Thomas simultaneously at a club meeting. Unfortunately, Buckwheat and Billie were both poor, so them trading places didn't lead to anything interesting.
An alternative plot line for WEDDING WORRIES was to show events leading up to the marriage of __________________- .

MGM and Warner Bros., creating one of the biggest empires in the world, and turning 'Our Gang' into per-cursor to soap operas. The writers wanted to poke fun at the poor decisions MGM had made for the series. However, MGM rejected the script - not because they were being made fun of, but because it was suggested that they would be on speaking terms with Warner Bros.

GOING TO PRESS originally had Froggy being taken ___________________________________ To his surprise Birthday Party, but then it was decided to save that plot device for another short. Isn't it wonderful that the MGM scriptwriters came up with that? In MIGHTY LAK A GOAT (1942), ____________________ was originally slated to be the box office lady.

Janet, but she couldn't reach the window. In ALL ABOUT HASH, the kids were originally going to save Mickey's parents' marriage by............. Bringing back the unidentified Twin Brothers from PARTY FEVER (1938) to attempt an adorable rendition of "Let's Get Together" for the benefit of Mickey's parents. Unfortunately, the song wouldn't actually be written for 2 decades, and thus the divorce proceeded. Needless to say, this wasn't quite the ending that pleased the MGM Brass! In PARTY FEVER (1938), the unidentified (Were both their names Stinky, or what?) Twin Brothers roles were originally to be _______________________________________.

The unidentified twin boys weren't able to play. In IMPRACTICAL JOKERS, Butch's last-straw prank for Alfalfa was going to involve _______________________________________ Blowing up the Empire State Building because Butch once overheard Alfalfa saying it was his dream to visit there someday! However, it was decided the gag was impractical, non family friendly, lame, and most importantly, would have put the short way over budget. Thus, the IM was removed from the title (Another cost saving measure!), and the ending was replaced with the wonderful off camera explosion fans have come to love! (Huh?) Instead of rescuing a Dog from the pound, DOG DAZE (1939) was originally to be about ______________________________.

It's been awhile since I've seen DOG DAZE, but I don't remember a dog pound being in the story. Wasn't that one AUTO ANTICS? Obviously, these MGM shorts aren't all that memorable!
DOG DAZE was originally going to be a remake of DOG HEAVEN, with the kids' dog getting intoxicated and actually finding the new 'Our Gang' shorts funny.
In AUTO ANTICS, the Gang's car was originally going to be powered by __________________________________

Boy, I really need to refer back to my own write ups of these shorts!
Anyway, the Gang's Car was to originally be powered by "Invisible Rays", but the scriptwriters shelved the idea for being too silly, which didn't stop them from using the idea in a later short about a "Robot". So much for being too silly! At the end of ELECTION DAZE (1943), instead of President Elect Janet vowing for the Club to have Tea Parties with Dollies, she was going to ____________________________.

organize a mud-wrestling tournament. Unfortunately she couldn't find a copy of "Fair and Muddy" as a guide.
Instead of landing in poison ivy after their tent ride in JOY SCOUTS, the gang was supposed to have landed _______________________ .

Again, in WALDO'S LAST STAND (1940), instead of that lame "all the neighborhood kids were in the show" ending, ____________________ was how it originally went down.
