Hi! I would like to compile a complete (or at least nearly complete) list of alternate titles of home movie prints of Our Gang film and what films they actually are. This would be convenient for anyone who has any old home movies prints and they don't know which film it is. I recently learned that "The Chain Gang" is a shortened version of Roamin' Holiday from 1937 (thanks mtw12055). If anyone has other titles or films that they are not sure about, feel free to reply.
I will update this list periodically!
MOVIES:
"Boarding House Frolics" = half of "Boys To Board" (1923) "The Chain Gang" = cut-down version of "Roamin' Holiday" (1937) "Donkey Delivery Company" = fragments of "Our Gang" (1922) "Frogs and Hornets" = excerpt of "Commencement Day" (1923) "Growing Pains" = excerpt of "July Days" (1923) "Gypsies and Babies" = fragment of "Cradle Robbers" (1923) "Hot Dogs and Lemonade" = fragment of "Derby Day" (1923) "The School Play" = around half of "Stage Fright" (1923) "Speedy Action" = most of "Fast Company" (1924) "Sundown Ltd." = most of "The Sun Down Limited" (1924) "Swell Time" = excerpt of "Tire Trouble" (1924) "Torpedo!" = fragment of "Fast Company" (1924) "Way Out West" = fragments of "War Feathers" (1926) "Who's a Sissy" = fragment of "Our Gang" (1922)

A few that come to mind: "Boarding House Frolics" - a release from Exclusive Movie Studios containing about half of "Boys to Board". "Torpedo!" - a fragment of "Fast Company" (the scene with the monkey throwing the torpedoes), also from Exclusive. "Hot Dogs and Lemonade" - an Exclusive fragment of "Derby Day" (the film's early scenes). "Gypsies and Babies" (or possibly the other way around) - an Exclusive fragment of "Cradle Robbers" (the last part of the film). "Who's a Sissy" - an Exclusive fragment of "Our Gang" (much of the sequence involving Ernie trying to get John Hatton's clothes), which can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMFEx_lV6W4"Donkey Delivery Company" - an Exclusive fragment of "Our Gang" (mostly containing bits from the film's second half). "Frogs and Hornets" - I believe this is an Exclusive release of the second half of "Sunday Calm". "Way Out West" - An Exclusive fragment of "War Feathers", containing portions of the film's second half. "Speedy Action" - An Exclusive release of "Fast Company", containing most of the film. "Swell Time" - About ten minutes of "Tire Trouble" from an unknown company. "Sundown Ltd." - An Exclusive release of "The Sun Down Limited" containing most of the film. I've also seen ebay offers for an Our Gang short titled "Growing Pains". I don't believe this is the lost Our Gang short; in fact, I'm not positive what this is supposed, but I think it's a fragment of "Boys Will Be Joys". I also recall seeing an ebay offer for a fragment from "It's a Bear"; I think it was titled "Farina's Always in Trouble", or something similar.

"The School Play" is around half of "Stage Fright." Wasn't that a TV print? Or was that title used more than once? I wouldn't be surprised since most of these 'new' titles weren't especially creative. Exclusive Movie Studios released most of "Stage Fright" (minus most of the early footage involving the potatoes and apples, and the bit where the kids try to sneak food off of a cart). under the titles "Amateur's Delight". A few other releases from Exclusive: "The Hobo's Escape" - the last part of "The Cobbler" "A Country Schoolyard" - bits from the schoolyard scene in "Commencement Day" "Watermelon Feast" - the gang trying to swipe watermelons in "The Buccaneers" "Pirates" - most of "The Buccaneers" "Bandits in the Well" - I'm not sure if this is from Exclusive, but it's a portion of "War Feathers".

Are the parts of "Our Gang" featured in "Donkey Delivery Company" and "Who's A Sissy" in the C. W. Films/A-1 Video release of "Our Gang"?

Watching your YouTube video, I found it odd that the flicker would go from almost none at all to real heavy flicker.

Two more alternate titles I got from The Picture Palace, which could be TV prints, I don't know any better, are "Stage Struck" for "Better Movies" and "The Big Idea" for "Every Man for Himself." Both barely have half the material, and in the latter just about the entire first reel is missing. It is obvious that many large pieces of Better Movies were chopped out of that print.

Also, there's a movie from Excel I found on eBay simply titled "Hal Roach 'Our Gang' Comedy." Does anyone have any information about this?

Stage Struck is a Mischief Makers TV episode. The Big Idea is a home movie print. But for some reason, later copies of that Picture Palace tape replaced The Big Idea with a different version of Every Man For Himself (the TV print titled Shoeshine Shop).

Which films are "Mysterious Mystery" and "Mickey's Battle" from Atlas Films? Mysterious Mystery is most likely the Our Gang short by the same name. Mickey's Battles is a Mickey McGuire comedy. EDIT: Reading the offer for "Mickey's Battle" on eBay, it actually appears to be the Our Gang short "Dogs of War!".
