So far, I haven't been able to figure out how to put up a photo to use as my avatar here on the boards. I'm not sure what's preventing my efforts from working, but everything that I've tried so far has gone for nought. Might someone be willing to explain the process for me in a way that I can understand?
Thanks for your patience. :-)

The photo has to be online for it to work. I believe there's sites where you can upload photos for this purpose. Then you just put in the web address where it says "Avatar URL." You can also mess with the height and width in case the results look wrong.

Hmmm...Well, I've tried to use online photos, copying and pasting the web address to the "Modify Profile" section that calls for it, but so far that hasn't been working for me. I just now tried again, but with the same results as before. It feels as if I'm following the directions accurately, but without success, and I can't figure out why.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure you are copying from the properties of the photo and not the page it's on. Right click the photo you want, go to properties, and then copy the the url address from there.

Great, thanks! You hit the nail right on the head as to what was hindering me, Rhapsody. I appreciate both of you having taken the time to help me.
By the way, that's Baby Leroy in my new profile picture. :-)
