Reportedly, he died from complications after a fall from a stepladder while pruning a tree.  |

RIP. That's sad that he fell... he must have been in decent shape to be up on a stepladder at the age of 79.

For an obscure Our Gang connection, Cordell Hickman (Big Shot in "Tale of a Dog" and "Our Gang Follies of 1938) appeared as a native boy in one of the Tarzan films, "Tarzan's Secret Treasure," that featured Johnny Sheffield in 1941.
