Has anybody else seen "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" yet? IT IS SOOOOO GOOD! My cousin and I went to see it and she would'nt stop talking about how cute Mr. Tumnas was! (but he is half goat) The story was written by C.S. Lewis as an alagory to the story of Jesus Christ's supreme sacrifice on the cross, with Aslan as Christ and the Witch as Satan, Narnia representing a world lost in sin. IT WAS FABULOUS! The movie I mean. To top it all off..... Peter was really cute!!! He had a really great jawline and he was all caring about his family... awwwwww. And Edmund looked like Alfalfa! Don't miss it!!!

The book was origionally published in 1950, but was written before that, of course. When I was little I was obssesed by this story. I was always on the lookout for a door to Narnia, just in case! I never liked the rest of the series quite as much as that one book.
On the inside of my copy it says:
"To Lucy Barfield,
My dear Lucy, I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time this is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say, but I shall still be
your affectionate Godfather, C.S. Lewis"
This indicates that the book may have been written quite some time before it was published. (It is also a very touching dedication, as this book is so much more than a fairy tale. It has meant so much to many people, and is very much God's tool.)

My Grandma got us the single-disc DVD, and I thought it was really great. It would be easy to make comparisons to LOTR, but they did a great job of making a really good movie that has its own feel and stands on its own very well.
I've heard that there is supposed to be an extended edition coming out this fall--I'd love to see that!

Really? I'd love to see it too!!
Ugh, the IMDb conversations for this film are too intense. There are some really hateful people on those boards that keep starting posts like:
"Just a few little points about Christians" or "The Chronicles of Propaganda"
It makes it very difficult to control one's temper!
