I read on one website which I thought gave reliable information at the time but can't remember its title --that C.W.Films is working on a restoration of "The Old Wallop" Does anyone know if this was an accurate statement? If it is I just beg them to PLEASE release it on DVD as soon as possible. This is a film which apparently there is no hope of its being included in the Laughsmith set. So hats off to C.W. Films if they make the film available to all us fans!

C.W. Films is actually working WITH Laughsmith on the upcoming set last I heard. I never heard about them planning on doing that.

According to my information, Laughsmith did not request a print of "The Old Wallop" or of "Ten Years Old". Which reminds me, I've read somewhere on this site that C.W. Films at one time at least planned to put out a version of "Ten Years Old". Reckon those plans fell through??? Sure hope someone will release more of the RARE "Our Gand" silents

This is Robin of C-W Films! I'm pleased to say that I'm working on releasing "The Old Wallop". I have made a set of subtitles (in English) for it as the existing print is in French. I'm also hoping to release "Ten Years Old". When these films are released, they will be licenced for me to sell by the copyright owner. There's one thing that has held me back apart from the costs involved and that is someone may come along and make bootleg copies of my hard work. Someone has already copied my version of the first Our Gang film that I was selling. It may be in the public domain, but any titles that I have to create to restore a film, are not. The titles in that version weren't anything special but they might have been. I stopped selling it because a much better version should be included in the Laughsmith set with better titles etc! The Laughsmith boxset has been delayed because of business matters with their distributor. The films are still being restored.

Thank you so much, Robin, for your reply. I certainly understand how frustrating that having your films bootlegged must be. Please know you have my best wishes, and I do hope you can release "The Old Wallop" and "Ten Years Old" as soon as you can. From my point of view it will be worth the wait!! I wonder if you have a catalogue of films that you do now sell? Again, tahnks a million for your reply>

I read somewhere on this website that C.W. Films may also release a copy of the 1-reel version of Telling Whoppers.

That would be great if the 2-reel version is unavailable. I have the hybrid film "An Average Day" which includes I guess about 3 to 4 minutes of footage from "Telling Whoppers" which is just enough for you to want to see more!! It also includes a few seconds from "Ten Years Old" as you probably already know

In fact the entire film is now on Youtube! Very enjoyable except the inter-titles have been removed. "The Cobbler" is now also posted, and it does have some of the inter-titles. I believe all Little Rascals fans will enjoy these new additions thanks to Frodis.

The Cobbler video is Frodis' edit of my three 16mm transfers. I sent him a copy of the 3 fragments, 2 silent and one Mischief Makers crappy score. He edited them together, added a new title, and score. The initial transfer was done by John Frank, webmaster of marykornman.com.

The print of Ten Years Old derives from a video someone else has posted that includes a Mischief Makers print with the narration dubbed into Macedonian. The other print derives from a hybrid Mischief Makers episode called An Average Day. Frodis has also edited together prints of Young Sherlocks, Boys to Board, Fast Company, and Ask Grandma.
