The Little Rascals - The Restored Silents, Vol. 1

Great news, via David, producer and founder of ClassicFlix:

Scans on over 60 silent Our Gang shorts (of the surviving 88) have been performed to date and we continue to look for additional material to fill in gaps of missing footage from the scans we already have. It's a time-consuming task, but we hope to have the first release (Volume 1) likely April / May 2024.

The number of shorts for the first volume will be 8. While not in exact chronological order, we will follow a rough chronology presenting the shorts we consider HD worthy: OUR GANG (1922) through THE CHAMPEEN! (1923).

That said, Blu-Ray players are quite cheap these days. This might be the perfect excuse to get one.

Official statement from CF -

Besides 8 of the first 9 shorts, the Sunshine Sammy pilot will be included as a bonus.

As mentioned in a previous statement, "A Quiet Street" will not be featured due to a lack of any HD-worthy material. But rest assured, plans are underway to get it on a DVD-exclusive release in the future, or as a possible bonus on a later Blu-Ray release.

Also of note, a fun new cover design for an upcoming re-release of the 80 talkies set. Note that this set won't include the bonus material.

AWESOME NEWS!!! I hope all the silents get released eventually (DVD or Blu-Ray), as I've been waiting for such releases forever. If they can all be restored, awesome, but I am willing to buy even decent prints that are above the quality seen on YouTube uploads, and such. We fans HAVE to support this, or we may never see the entire series (that which still exists) EVER officially released.

I am definitely buying the collection! Thank you, Classflix, for all the efforts to bring this to us fans!
