Many of the Our Gang main kids, and plenty of those who only appeared once or maybe a few times, also appeared in other movies. So, I thought that fact might provide the basis of a game. It's probably far too easy to 'name the kid' so instead whoever posts the picture can say who the kid is, which means that the game is to guess which movie the photo came from. Whoever gets the correct answer then posts a photo of their choice for others to try to identify the film that it came from. Easy enough? As I thought up the idea I'll go first and as I'm a big fan of Tommy Bupp. well obviously this first picture shows Tommy in a scene from a movie, but what is the name of the movie? Sorry that it's blurry but it's a screen capture from a low resolution video of the movie, that I found online.

Congratulations on getting it right so quickly. I was going to post a capture without Freddie Bartholomew in it, to make it more difficult, but I thought that I'd be generous and include him in the picture. Captains Courageous (1937). Anyway, you got the correct answer so it's your turn to dig out an appropriate picture with an Our Gang kid in it and post it here so that the rest of us can try and guess what movie it's from.

Wheeler and Woolsey are a forgotten comedy team for good reason: they were pretty awful. The only reason to watch that movie is Spanky and perhaps for the film's historical value.

I have to admit that I've never seen it and I hadn't heard of Wheeler and Woolsey before either. However I have watched this movie and it was okay, although the ending was a little melodramatic, to say the least.

Oh well this game was about as much fan as watching Mickey Gubitosi sobbing into a snotty handkerchief. The answer to the last 'mystery photo' was that it was a still from Keeper Of The Flame (1942) which starred Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn. It also feature Darryl Hickman who is in the mystery photo with Spencer Tracy. I'll throw the game open to anyone else who wants to post a 'mystery picture.'
