Here, if it turns out, is a grown-up Darla Hood singing a vocal verson of the exotica classic 'Quiet Village. It seems to have done fairly well for her.

Yanking this thread back from obscurity to report you can find this song and a similar one, 'Silent Village,' also by Darla in the Exotica compilation TECHNICOLOR PARADISE: RHUM RHAPSODIES AND OTHER EXOTIC DELIGHTS.
Apparently, Darla was the first to do 'Quiet Village' with lyrics; it's generally considered an instrumental. She came by it honestly, though; she was married to the guy who bought the copyright for the song from Les Baxter and subsequently got quite rich when it became a hit several years after its debut. He commissioned 'Silent Village' in hopes of jumping on his own bandwagon, as it were.

Fun!
Did she make "hundreds and thousands of dollars" from it?

I don't know how well her version did, but 'Quiet Village' is considered Ground Zero of Exotica music. It was all over the place in the Fifties, which meant lots of money in royalties.
