The first time I watched The Little Rascals on TV, Alfalfa immediately became my favorite character on there. He has and always will be my favorite Rascal. He was truly an extraordinary person, very much gifted, and an excellent actor. I have watched many videos on YouTube by Mandy Rascal over the past several years, and until I began watching those, I never knew that he starred in many movies as a young adult. It is sad that he left us at only age 31 in 1959, but there are many onscreen memories of him that we can watch over and over again. Carl Dean "Alfalfa" Switzer was and always will be a great child and young adult actor.

And we're supposed to argue with this?
Reportedly, there's an Alfalfa bio coming out sometime soon you might want to keep an eye out for.

What I know of him was what I read on the internet and what I can tell you is that he did not deserved what happened to him.

Though he's not my favorite, Alfalfa surely was one of the reasons Our Gang was kept afloat, and I respect him and his acting for that.

He's probably the singly most identifiable Our Gang kid of the lot, thanks to to his numerous unique quirks such as his trademark cowlick, the too short trousers, the off key singing and his cowardly yet brave persona. He was one extremely funny boy at times and he had personality by the bucket load. Was he the best Our Gang kid? Possibly but that's subjective. Was he my personal favourite? No, but I do admire him and I'd definitely place him in my top five. Without his input Our Gang would be even less well known than it is nowadays. They focused on the Alfalfa character for a reason, in the 1994 movie, because he's the one that most people remember and find amusing. In theory be was supposed to be Spanky's sidekick but in reality over a short space time he definitely became the central character and as an older boy Spanky was simply there without contributing a lot.
