It seems the RHI Little Rascals DVDs released in 2011 are getting harder and harder to come by.
The Complete Collection in 2008 can still be found it seems but these were the edited Blackhawk versions and not fully restored.
The 2011 single versions were cut from the same material as the Cabin Fever series and were as true to the original scores as possible with the material that's available today.
I ordered the 2011 set from Amazon and was able to obtain all 8 Volumes in October and promptly received all but Volume 6. It was put on hold until they could get it in stock. Now 2 months later and I get an email cancelling the order as they do know when or if it will ever be available.
Searching the internet and I can not find a copy anywhere. There were a few copies available as late as a month ago but the sellers on Amazon wanted $200 or more for (1) single DVD.

There were a few copies available as late as a month ago but the sellers on Amazon wanted $200 or more for (1) single DVD. That is most distressing news, indeed! I looked up THE LITTLE RASCALS, Volume 6 on Amazon Canada, and lo & behold, Amazon Marketplace has it listed at CDN$ 853.49! The last time I checked these Volumes a couple of months ago, they were pretty much all under $10, and a few of them still are! If it's of any consolation, if you can get a good deal on the 2008 set, only one of the Volume 6 shorts (THE PINCH SINGER) use the replaced Blackhawk Titles. Volume 7 of the 2008 RHI/Genius Entertainment DVD set was the hardest hit, in that respect! When you stated ordering all 8 Volumes, I assume that it was actually 7 Volumes you ordered from Amazon, as to my knowledge, Volume 8 has never been available as a standalone. I know because I ordered the first 7 RHI-Vivendi Volumes in the Spring of 2012, and could never get Volume 8! Anyway, the best of luck regarding Volume 6! Hopefully, it's just an anomaly, and not a sign of these Volumes going out of print! CHEERS!

Thanks for the information on the 2008 set. I'm not terribly familiar with those so I wasn't sure which ones were edited the most.
You're correct, I meant 7 Volumes, not 8.
I'm going to wait a while and see if they start reproducing Vol 6. again but if not I'll go with the 2008 set.
It would be a real shame if the newer version went out of print before the older one did.
Cheers!

This probably has little connection to the problem at hand, but Sonar Entertainment (RHI) started releasing some of the Rascals shorts for online streaming on YouTube a few months ago.

There's a volume one with ten shorts on iTunes as well. But the shorts are not in chronological order.

Don't know what the quality is, as I haven't purchased any of these, but here's a link to what's up so far: www.youtube.com/channel/UClgh4SOIws0lZajyZUAgSCA/search?query=little+rascals

Unfortunately, this is what I get when I click on your link: "This channel has no content that matched "little rascals."" Probably another one of those "I reside in the wrong country" B.S. scenarios, though it isn't explicitly stated that way! Typical! Thanks for providing the link anyway! These should be useful for those who reside in the "Right countries" where gaining access to the content is concerned! CHEERS!

Surely hope they haven't gone out of print. I guess the interest just isn't as strong as it needs to be to keep the copying going.

However, if that's the case, it appears to be taking longer for the RHI/Genius (!) collection to run out of copies! Now, I wonder why that could be? CHEERS!

According to Paul Mular of the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum: "My understanding is that volumes 4, 5, & 6 are no longer available, but Amazon still has some in stock. The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum store has 3 copies of all 7 DVDs for sale at only $10 each."Based on the above, it appears to me that the RHI/Vivendi Reissued Little Rascals individual DVD volumes are going out of print sooner, rather than later! Therefore, those who want copies might want to snap these up, soon! CHEERS!
