My Cub Scouts Troop circa 1966. Can you guess which one is me? I'm going to have to guess you're second from the right. Is that correct?

My publicity shot, circa 1963 (or thereabouts) I like that one! :-) It's hard to believe it's actually from 1963, though! You don't look five years old (or nearly so) in that picture. I would have guessed you were only two or three.

You're right on both counts. I'm the second one from the right in the scout pic, and I was probably only 3 when that color pic was taken. All I remember is playing on the patio and watching the red ants and black ants kill each other when me and my brother looked under a rock on the patio or just outside. At some point when I was a young tyke I had a loose tooth and was worried about it. Thankfully my parents snapped a picture...

I don't know too many people besides myself who remember specific events from when they were three or younger, but it sounds as if you remember. You probably have a strong memory.
I could easily see the three-year-old you palling around with Porky and/or Buckwheat when they were that age in the Our Gang shorts, as sort of a third member of their famous duo. Or I could envision you filling in for Gary Jasgur on occasion in the MGM films. Additionally, you at least look the part to have played as younger brother (and unintentional foil) to Dickie Moore or Spanky as older brother, or maybe even to Wally Albright. The possibilities are many! :-)
I don't know about you, but when I had loose baby teeth I couldn't stop wiggling them. It looks like that's what you're doing in this picture, testing to see far how the loose tooth is moving.

Okay I've got a photo of me, aged 5, but instead of colorizing a black and white photo I've gone the opposite way and converted a color photo to sepia, cos I like sepia photos. Anyway I could never have been a Rascal, I had too many teeth. Well, I'm shocked. After all this talk about Harry and Alfalfa and all the other freckle-faced kids, I completely expected to see a face full of freckles on you. The fact that I've only ever had a maximum of a measly 13 freckles even in mid summer is probably why I admire Harry, Alfie, Jay R. Turkey Egg and the rest so much. It's a simple case of envy

^^That's a very cute picture BTW. Thanks for posting it! Okay, we have a date on this one...1962. So that color pic could have been from 1960.

Here is the only other picture that I found where I was wearing my Scotty cap, probably taken on the same day as my avatar pic. It looks like I'm striking some goofy pose, but I'm actually flying a kite. If you look closely at my hand you'll see the string and I'm looking up at the kite, and you can see the spool of string on the ground.

I'll repost this picture in this thread, because I think it captures me at my "Little Rascal" best. This would have been my character on the show...

I'll repost this picture in this thread, because I think it captures me at my "Little Rascal" best. This would have been my character on the show... You could have been sort of the "replacement Scotty" after Scotty Beckett departed the series, much the same way Harry Spear basically took over Scooter Lowry's role (and was eventually replaced, himself, by Jackie Cooper) and Norman Chaney kind of took over for Joe Cobb (with a short Bobby Dean interlude). I, too, think this photo may best reflect your Gangster qualifications, though the picture of you as a two-year-old comes close.

So, was there some sort of machine to the right of this picture that was creating a force field that was pulling those albums out of the sleeves? Maybe it was a magnet and they were heavy metal?

Here's another Cub Scout picture, my moment of triumph! I'm the innocent looking one on the right holding the winning trophy and prize. My car won the Pinewood Derby that night and I got my name in the paper. The other kids probably hated me at that moment. ;D Speaking of the other kids I can remember all the names except one. In the back row is Kenny, Donald, (don't know), Arthur, and me. Down front are Paul and John.

This looks like something out of Our Gang. This is one of my other brothers (I had three)... Something about this brother reminds me of Donald Proffitt. Even the way he's dressed in this photo strikes me as somewhat similar.

That's the brother that I was closest to in age, but he was still about 7 years older than me. I was the youngest in the family by far. Here are a few more of him. He was definitely a rascal. He broke my leg once when I was real small, and he split my lip another time. Geez...

I didn't realize all your brothers were that much older than you, but I know it can happen. My grandmother had eight children, and only about fifteen years separated the oldest from the youngest, but her mother also had eight children, and I believe the oldest was born nearly thirty years before the youngest.
Was it just regular roughhousing that led to the broken leg and split lip you suffered? I wonder if, being seven years older than you, he was still close enough in age to want to roughhouse with his younger brother, but didn't fully realize the disparity of his strength in relation to yours.
