name these boys if you can Back row - Stymie, Donald Proffitt, Leonard Kibrick, Jerry Tucker. Front row: Sidney Kibrick (later known as "Woim"), Buckwheat (I guess he wore a wig), unknown, Petey, Spanky, Scotty Beckett, Alvin Buckelew, Harry Harvey, Jr., Merrill Strong. Kind of a fun fact-The birthday cake was for President Roosevelt's birthday.

I don't know if he really counts as a Rascal, as he was only in one short, but he was part of The Gang in it, so I'm going to post one of my favourite photos of Tommy Bupp anyway. It's from the movie "Reformatory" in which he played Fibber Reagan and was forced to eat a bar of soap by nasty warden Ward Bond.

I saw this one online yesterday and I thought it was pretty good. I think that I read that it was taken on Jean's birthday. I also came across this one of Billy Lee, I presume that the two girls were maybe his sisters or maybe they were in a movie with him? I really don't know.

While searching for some Our Gang photos online I saw this really good photo of Jack Davis, which sold at auction in 2013. The article didn't say how much it fetched.

Jay, Scooter, Fern Carter, Jackie, Joe, and Farina with the infamous 'Our Gang' quilt. Schoolteacher Fern Carter kept this quilt throughout the series' run, and had each of the Gang sign it. I'm sure everyone would love to see this thing now. I wonder if it's still around. As of 2014 it was still in existence. Click on the link below for more information. Our Gang Exhibition

Actually, just seeing the young and older Harry Spear, I do see some similar features. While I certainly won't say unequivocally the man in the later photo is Harry Spear, I won't say that he definitely isn't, either! For that, I would need to see some substantial evidence (IE. The sources of those side by side photos!) either way. The older photo of 'Harry Spear' is of a man who shared the same name but he was an authority on fishing, who'd worked for many years as a guide in the Florida Keys and later started his own business building fishing skiffs. Interview with Harry Spear (Not the Our Gang one)As an adult the real Harry Spear didn't use the surname Spear but had reverted back to his original name of Bonner.

Speaking of Harry Spear I just watched Olympic Games (1927) again today and something struck me about Harry. I was sure that I'd seen a post on this thread about the same thing and sure enough I've just checked and I had. Harry was undoubtedly left handed. So it's somewhat strange that in Olympic Games he threw his 'javelin' and later fruit & veggies, with his right hand. Confusion over which is the dominant hand is something that frequently occurs with dyslexics. So in Harry's case that might also account for his rather immature hand writing, using only capital letters.

Alternatively perhaps the photo was printed in reverse and he was right handed but the rest of the kids were all lefties? Actually quite a lot of left handed people do some things with their right hand, especially when it comes to sports or throwing things.

Darla was never one of my favorite Our Gang characters, as she came across to me as a middle aged woman masquerading as a little girl. However some people really like her. So when I saw this picture of her yesterday, and it was one that I hadn't seen before, I figured that I'd post it here and maybe someone might like it. I also saw this candid photo of Carl Switzer, which I think was taken in his home town of Paris, Illinois. It's a picture that I hadn't see before and I rather like it.

It appears that Harry Spear wasn't the only left handed Our Gang kid. I just spotted this reprinted photo on eBay.

Norman Chaney is introduced to the members of Our Gang. Farina and Harry both look absolutely delighted that he's joined the gang, I don't think. They must have known that the writing was one the wall for both of them.
