Philip MacMahon looks like he could pass for Breezy Brisbane's twin brother.

Following on from the vinyl record above this is the photo that the printers of the cover must have used... Apparently Victor Frankenstein was experimenting with head transplants in 1951, when he removed Harry Spear's head and replaced it with that of Mickey Daniels... On the back of the photo it makes no reference to the head transplant but simply lists the Rascals and then makes a further error by misnaming Pete as 'Sparky.' I guess somebody couldn't be bothered to do any research and had a vague and slightly confused memory of the name Spanky being connected with the Gang in some way. If they had bothered to do some research they might have come across the original pre-Frankenstein version of the photo, before Harry lost his head and the building behind the Gang was erased from existence...

Perhaps worth mentioning, the 'Our Gang' spoof on The Jack Benny Program when a grown-up Darla guest-starred seemed based on someone's foggy memories. I can understand Jack as 'Alfalfa' being the leader since they'd cast Don Wilson as Spanky but Dennis Day as Waldo was in a Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit rather like Stinky Davis from the Mickey McGuire shorts.

Not to mention the odd character parody names ("Spunky", "Oatmeal", "Rodney").

Yeah, I dunn ever remember Waldo wearing clothes like that, Butch on the other hand did in Came The Brawn...

It seems that not content with grafting Mickey Daniel's head onto Harry Spear's body those Our Gang gremlins have been at it again cos according to this eBay listing, she may look like Muggsy to you and me but to those in the know she's actually Dorothy DeBorba and that Buckwheat lookalike is really Stymie in disguise! Click here for Dorothy & Stymie eBay listingPS: And let's not forget that Scotty Beckett apparently rejoined the Gang disguised as Mickey Gubitosi. Once upon a time I used to write to the sellers and inform them of the mistakes they'd made in their listing but now I simply can't be bothered. If they can't take the trouble to get their facts right in order to maximize their chances of selling things and making money why should I do their job for them?

Vintage Tommy Bupp Billie Morris Richard Perry MALE CHILD STAR '36 CU That's what the title of the eBay listing is but unless my eyes really need testing at least two of the three aren't in the photograph that's up for auction. I'd recognize Tommy Bupp anywhere but I dunn recognize him in the photo cos he isn't there, which is a pity 'cos I might have bought it if he'd been in it. Sidney Kibrick is there however, although he isn't mentioned. The other two boys could be Billie Morris and Richard Perry I guess 'cos I've never heard of either of them and have no idea what they look like. Click here for the mystery photo

I think they mean that the card was issued in 2008 And let's give them credit for taking on board criticism and learning how to spell 'worn' correctly too.

Freckles XVII, okay Freckles IV. Maybe he just seems like he's the 17th claimant of the title . Nope this one isn't our old friend John F. Bothwell. This is a new one on me who called himself ' Freckles Ray' the Paramount Our Gang star. It must be true because it was published in a newspaper and we all know how carefully they research their stories. To visit the eBay listing and maybe even bid on this very rare genuine 'Freckles Ray' autograph click HERE

Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act inquiry the real reason Buckwheat was absent from Feed 'Em and Weep has been revealed to be related to an advertising stunt gone awry. In the Spring of 1938, financial considerations made it impossible to keep both Spanky and Buckwheat, the longest serving Rascals at the time, so they got rid of the higher salary, which was Spanky. Spanky was so upset he concocted a plan to get revenge. He convinced Buckwheat and the studio that this circus theme was a good idea to promote the series, and volunteered to help out despite his imminent departure: File Photo, April 1, 1938 However, Spanky collected all the keys to the lock on the cage, and with the help of Butch and The Woim, who were also being kicked out of the series, managed to spirit Buckwheat away and keep him locked up for two weeks. A plea deal was reached. Buckwheat was released in time for the next film, Butch and The Woim were allowed to return three months later for The Little Ranger, and Spanky was allowed to return after six months for Aladdin's Lantern. The whole incident was so embarrassing it was hushed up and the official press statement simply claimed Buckwheat was sick during the filming of Feed 'Em and Weep.

Freckles Ray rears his freckled head again. Hang on a minute this one is called Jack May (or is that Jack Hay?). Listed on eBay is a small collection of 5 Our Gang related photos... The bottom left photo shows the fabled Freckled Jack (Hay/May/Nay/Ray?) of Our Gang. According to the info on the wire photo... Blind Bowler Jack (M)ay, Miami, participant in the White Cane Bowling Tournament, which highlighted the seventh annual Convention of the Florida Federation of the Blind, holds the guide rail while his seeing-eye dog, Satan, keeps close by. ( M)ay was the original red-haired 'Freckles' in the Our Gang Comedies.
