An episode where Dorothy DeBorba and Darla Hood fight to the death in a giant tub of soft serve ice cream? Personally I'd pull for Dorothy.

In no particular order, I've chosen Wheezer, Chubby, Jackie Cooper, Dorothy, Stymie, Breezy, Dickie, Spanky, Wally and Marianne.

The jazz world has lost a great and sensational voice.

MGM Executive: "Even though we now have the rights to produce the Our Gangs we should credit Hal Roach as creator. Let's give credit where credit is due.

At one point Beradino played for the Pirates when the team was known as the "Rickey Dinks". This was 1952.

I suspect MGM's claim over the title has expired. Of course, there's also the possibility MGM bought the rights to the old shorts as well. Well, M-G-M itself was bought by Turner and then sold again, so that could have something to do with it. But as far as I know, M-G-M has no claim on the Hal Roach Little Rascals shorts. But it's become pretty common to leave trademarks belonging to another studio on films that have changed hands -- like Tom & Jerry for instance. I do remember some time in the 1980s or 1990s, King World and Turner made some kind of a deal to jointly license merchandise like T-shirts and stuff rather than competing with one another. Maybe that had something to do with it? Another example of someone else owning another studio's properties with original logos would be Universal owning Paramount's pre-1948-49 feature library.

Sure. Just don't fool me with no play money. Who was the "Vernon Dent" among the Roach-era Rascals supporting players?

I recall watching Bouncing Babies on AMC and I thought the music was original. I didn't know it was lifted from another short.

Mischief, Music and Mink: Sick of hearing stories of Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Porky and Waldo playing hooky, the head administrator (Vernon Dent, in his only appearance with the Gang) tries making the boys into jazz musicians. Under music teacher Norma David (Marjorie Deanne), Spanky plays piano, Alfalfa trumpet, Buckwheat Bass, Porky Drums, and Waldo percussion. To make the boys look good, they are dressed up in mink-collared jackets (Porky wears a fox furpiece). Darla-wearing her usual stuff-leads the band, named Sweet Music. After a couple of songs the boys start to rebel and cause a riot, throwing their jackets around (Porky's piece lands on Miss David's face), then they smash the instruments. The exasperated administrator next calls it quits and the boys are playing hooky again the next day. Also featuring Otto Fries, in one of his last roles, as the truant officer. (1937)

I haven't seen many Gang silents as well as the MGMs much, but insofar as the Roach talkies are concerned I only have a handful-"Boxing Gloves" and "Night N'Gales" come to mind right now.

I remember seeing an ad for Faygo soda pop with Laurel and Hardy imitators in the early '70s.
