My guess is that they don't have the MGM silents available to put on DVD. They typically have different sources for the films in Europe as opposed to the US.

Can someone tell me if the new individual DVDs match the content of the box set DVDs identically except for the corrected prints (do they have the introductions by Richard Bann, Dickie Moore, etc)? What about the silk screen image on the disc itself? Is that the same as the box set discs, or is there some indication it is from an updated pressing? And, just because I'm too lazy to check myself, what discs on the box set have the Blackhawk prints that need to be replaced with the new discs? Does anyone have the answers to these questions? Thanks in advance!

Can someone tell me if the new individual DVDs match the content of the box set DVDs identically except for the corrected prints (do they have the introductions by Richard Bann, Dickie Moore, etc)? Yes, they have the introductions. I've only looked at disc one so far, but the back of the cases indicate that the intros are all there. What about the silk screen image on the disc itself? Is that the same as the box set discs, or is there some indication it is from an updated pressing? The silk screen image on each disc matches the Pete the Pup image on the case, and not the images from the boxed set. And, just because I'm too lazy to check myself, what discs on the box set have the Blackhawk prints that need to be replaced with the new discs? Disc 1: Boxing Gloves Moan & Groan, Inc. Shivering Shakespeare Disc 2: A Tough Winter Disc 4: The Kid From Borneo Disc 5: Anniversary Trouble Little Papa Disc 6: Little Sinner The Pinch Singer Disc 7: Three Smart Boys Roamin' Holiday Bear Facts Came The Brawn Feed 'Em And Weep The Awful Tooth Hide And Shriek

One thing I noticed is that the films aren't always in the order of filming. "Choo-Choo!" is between "Free Eats" and "Spanky" on Volume 3. That's the first one I've caught. I just ordered 6 and 7 now. I haven't compared it film-for-film to the book, but I know by default that "Spanky" came right after "Free Eats", because it was one of my favorite (albeit heavily edited down to 10 minutes) episodes on TV as a kid.

Yes, the order is the same as on the Genius boxed set. It all seems to have been researched on IMDb, which is inaccurate. The biggest error would be the release date for "Canned Fishing," which gives the impression that it was the final Roach short in the series.

Mark, Can you tell me exactly the name(s) of these DVDS and where you bought them. I would appreciate it. You can email me the info, augweiss@msn.com The names of the DVDs are kind of generic. They're each "The Little Rascals Volume __." I bought them from Barnes & Noble in Harrisonburg, VA. Barnes & Noble stores that have CDs and movies will most likely have them. They carry a lot of movie classics.
