Hello!
My husband and I are trying to figure out some information about his grandfather. His grandfathers name was Tomas "Tom " Stevens and he was a regular on the earlier silent (we suppose) episodes of "Our Gang" but no one knows who he played. He might have been a regular extra for all we know. He was born in 1913 and passed away 12 years ago, my husbands mother doesn't know who he played and apparently there is no listing of names of who was the actors - am I right? His grandpa was in many episodes and was offered to stay on but he (being a kid) though the days were to long and quit. Any information you could give would be greatly appreciated! Since we live in Sweden we have not seen any of the episodes for years and are looking to get a VHS/Dvd of the early shows so we could perhaps recognize him. Anyone knows where to get a copy (is the one advertised on this site of the early ones?)? Sincerely, Helene

All of the main characters have been identified. He may have been an extra, unless he was one of the unidentified kids in the first couple of films. The one mentioned on the updates page is the very first one filmed. It is not complete. Many of the silents are sold on Ebay. The quality varies. Did he ever give any details about any particular episodes he was in?

Hello! Thank you for the reply. We are going to talk to my husbands mom and try and hopefully find out more. All we know is that he is on the early silent ones (since he was born in 1913 and would have been too old for the other ones) and that he thought it was alot of fun but that it took up alot of time. I also don't think his parents wanted him to stay on because of all the time it took. We will get the early ones and see if we recognize him. Also try to find out more from my husbands 95 year old grandma. If we find out anything more I'll let you know. For our own children (and ourselves) it would be fun to find out once and for all. He might have been an extra and then asked to stay on for a "real"character - we don't know. We do know he was asked to stay on and that he was on regularly. He also could have gone by the name Tommie/Tommy.

If you can locate a picture of him about the time he was on the show, host it with a photo hosting site, then post the link so we can view it, we "may" be able to give better help. OPT

Thanks for replying! My in-laws are going to scan photos in the next coming weeks. I will then put them onto this forum - great idea (why didn't I think of that myself : . Thanks for the input! Just in case...he was severly flat footed and walked kind of "funny", in case any of you are watching the silent short films right now.
