Because there's a One Reel Wonder clip they play on TCM (not sure if it's a commercial or a new intro), and in it you see a screen grab of the "The Big Premier" opening title card and then a still picture of the gang drinking ice cream sodas from "Alfalfa's Double".
If they include those in the commercial/intro, well, that would mean they play the shorts once in a while? I haven't seen it lately.
And UUUUGGGHH! A Thelma Todd & Patsy Kelly short is playing right now as I type this (called "The Thin Man" I think). If I knew that was coming on, I would be recording it. BLAAAH!

TCM played General Spanky a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen any of the shorts played in I don't know how long. If you go to the TCM site, click on message boards, and then go to Shorts, you find a list of all the short subjects they play for about a week. Some employee updates it weekly or so. Sorry I never thought about mentioning this. I got to see Darla in Neighborhood House, Spanky in One Track Minds, and some other Gangsters by keeping tabs on the list.

Looks like AmericanLife TV Network has the TV rights to the MGM-produced shorts.
The Todd-Kelly film is called THE TIN MAN.
God Bless -- PAUL
