I thought this was OG at its all time worst. One of the Hoakiest films of that period was "Time out for lessons" Brisbane

I knew we would have to deal with this painful thread someday. Truth is I have not seen any of the MGM clunkers in years, and why should I? I remember just how bad they were. Why watch inferior material when the great Hal Roach and co. spent 16 years making films that hold up after almost 90 years? It's hard to believe the last Our Gang film was made 73 years ago. My question is this. Would we be so enamored with the Our Gang films had we only had the MGM films to watch and grow up to? I don't think so. There I said it. I hate the later MGMs. I would happily trade them, or destroy them, for clean intact copies of all the silent films our favorite kids made all those years ago. Quality over quantity, that's just my opinion.

My first instinct is to say The Awful Tooth, but of course that came prior to the sale of the series. Dental humor is a squeamish topic for many people, one that I would make a point of staying away from if I were a producer, director or writer. I've only watched The Awful Tooth once so far, mainly because it's a bit discomfiting to me.
I'm not sure which one of the 1938-1944 MGM shorts I would designate as actually being of the lowest quality, but the one I liked the least would probably be one in which Mickey Gubitosi didn't appear. I'm just not sure which of the Gubitosi-less ones that would be, as I nonetheless have a certain fondness for all of them, too.

I'll go with Little Miss Pinkerton. While many shorts mentioned above are utterly devoid of entertainment value, showing the murder of the nice janitor is completely inappropriate for an Our Gang "comedy."
