One of the companies involved in the merger that created RKO (Radio-Keith-Orpheum) was Keith-Albee-Orpheum, which operated a chain of vaudeville houses. The "Our Gang Kids" was a vaudeville act consisting mainly of former members of the Gang. Usually they were kids that had outgrown the series, like Mickey Daniels, Mary Kornman, and Johnny Downs. In the case of Scooter Lowry, he was released from the film series after one year and placed in the vaudeville act, perhaps to remove its 'over-the-hill' stigma.
