Yep- I once saw a 1950's (?) ad with Pineapple that listed him as Farina.

I like how they drew the pens on the photo. There are a few vintage ads out there for Chicago Roller Skates, from 1927-28. There is also a 7-Up ad, but I think it was from the '70's. They just added a case of 7-Up to an old photo of the Chubby-era gang.

Probably Kellogg's Pep www.picking.com/pep.htmlI emailed the guy that his correction is wrong. He says the girl, identified as Mary Kornman, is actually Mildred Kornman. It appears to be Jean Darling, to me. Too big for Mildred. Never got a reply.

The pen ad seller has a few inconsistencies. They call Joe Cobb "Fatty Joe" and I think that is Pineapple, not Farina. Or did we already say that?

We covered the Pineapple part, without actually saying it. It appears that Joe was referred to as "Fatty," since I have seen things signed by him as "Fatty" Joe Cobb. Although Leonard Maltin mentions that there was no "Fatty" or "Freckles" character, Ebay proves him wrong, as vintage stuff refers to Mickey Daniels, Harry Spear, and Jay R. Smith as "Freckles."

Here is a photo of Harry Spear, autographed when he was a kid. He refers to himself as "Freckles." And a closeup of the autograph.

I have an 8mm print called Kid Gang, Where it lists Farina as "Little Black Sambo", Mickey as "Freckles", Sammy as "Blacky", Joe as "Fatty" and Mary as "Beautiful"

What company put that out? And what short is it from? At least they got Mary right.
