Going through my letters from Our Gangers, I ran across this tidbit:
Eugene "Pineapple" Jackson appeared in the Goldie Hawn movie, "Swing Shift". He plays a saxophone on a bus.
I have never seen this movie, but Mr. Jackson told me this himself. Has anyone here seen it?

I have and I watched it only because he was in it. I couldn't find though. I'll have to watch the bus scene closely the next time it plays.

Maybe the scene got cut.
By the way, after posting this, I checked the credits for this movie on the Internet Movie Database, and someone named Eugene W. Jackson is listed as playing a bartender.

His scene could definitely been cut. I know it happened a lot. Leo Gorcey had a small part in the Crosby-Hope Road to Zanzibar that was cut. I've seen a picture of them in costume from the film, but the scene is not in the film.

Did you know that after Our Gang he joined the Buster Brown comedies, and he was the only black person to appear in the series?

There was a littler black boy, patterned after Farina, but I think he joined later, after Eugene left.
