"New Profile Pic" versions of The Little Rascals!

Ok, so I was playing around with the "New Profile Pic" AI app and decided to create pics using it featuring several Our Gang members. Some interesting results! LOL! 😃 Now, this app, since, I guess, it's mostly intended for use by teens and adults, has some trouble with figuring younger kids -- Mostly the boys. I guess the baby faced kiddos read as "female" even when they have short hair! Interestingly, there were a few of the girls it read as a boy even with longer hair. Ugh. I could see no way to fix this when I saw the results, so I gave up on those that the AI was being stubborn about no matter the picture I used. That noted, I still was able to get it to work more often than not.

See if you can guess who is whom? Leave a comment on the individual photo if you can figure out the real identity, so to speak. Most are easy, but there may be a few harder to guess...

I keep coming back to the ones I've had no guesses for. #8 is almost grotesque; looks like a ventriloquist's dummy! I really have no idea, unless it's supposed to be Joe Cobb. But it would be a mighty skinny one.

I'm not convinced that #12 is Darla. But then again, who else could she be? Not a lot of candidates. #3 doesn't look much like Dorothy DeBorba, so...?

And what's with the weird hair on most of the guys?

The app only has a few styles for men and women, and has trouble with heavier body types, as both Joe Cobb and Chubby are in this mix, but most people don't guess them correctly. #12 IS Darla, #8 isn't Joe Cobb, but is Chubby. #3 is Dorothy.

I think it's fair to say that this technology has a ways to go yet! I suppose I can see a little bit of Spanky in #6...maybe just one moment when he was very young did he have that expression. But #8 is a complete failure as Chubby.

Furthermore, #16 looks a lot more like Porky than #13 does. Think of his little grin as he's eating the apple in one of his first shorts. I see zero Joe Cobb there, and there isn't even a hint of Alfalfa in #18.

Still, this has been a fun exercise, and I'm glad you put it up. Too bad there wasn't more participation!

I would have embarrassed myself guessing these. These apps often improve over time, so see if the results are any better after a year or so.
