Oddly enough, The Little Rascals will air on MeTV on Christmas Eve, and here are the scheduled shorts for 12/24:
"Mama's Little Pirate" "The First Round-Up" "Fishy Tales"
I happen to like "Fishy Tales" because Butch accuses Alfalfa of his original mishap, and gets accused a second time, even if the second incident was Porky's doing. Butch was really acting like a bully in this one for sure.

How times change... MeTV isn't censoring the more racially sensitive material but they did digitally blur Wally at the end of 'Hi-Neighbor.' Dunno why, I went back and checked, his shorts aren't particularly more revealing than the other boys'....

MAMAS LITTLE PIRATE and THE FIRST ROUND-UP (Both 1934) are true treasures not to be missed, even by the most casual 'Rascals' fan! So Me-TV is more concerned with the kids revealing a bit too much in their state of dress than offending minorities? Interesting. CHEERS!

Shorts for New Year's Eve (December 31):
"Washee Ironee" "School's Out" "Feed 'Em and Weep"
Unless I overlooked something, "School's Out" may be the first Public Doman short in the MeTV run. Someone please clarify?

Shorts for first weekend of 2017 (January 7):
"Free Eats" "Pups is Pups" "Night N' Gales"
I have to admit, the latter of those three shorts is my most favorite of all the shorts I have seen. Seeing Darla's dad acting delirious over the boys' antics and Buckwheat's reaction to his fear the dark (which I think was one of the Rascals' schemes) really sparks laughter in me.
I wonder if "Anniversary Trouble" will not be aired, due to a scene where Spanky gets spanked?

Spanky's 'Blacked up' sequence was simply edited out of the King World presentations, at least when I was growing up in the 1970s-'80s. CHEERS!

What they could have done was cut away just before Spanky starts to put the black 'stuff' (I can't remember what it was) on his skin. We already know that he and Buckwheat are going to switch clothes. That would be followed by a nice edit to Hattie McDaniel on the phone with Johnny Arthur. The shot of Spanky (still slightly blackened up) reacting to the phone call would have to be replaced with something else. Not sure what. Then it at least makes sense that Spanky is wearing Buckwheat's clothes.

Shorts for January 14:
"Our Gang Follies of 1938" "Divot Diggers" "Three Men in a Tub"
I could of sworn I learned that "Divot Diggers" was already aired in this run? Could it be possible that they've exhausted all of the available shorts as of January 14?
What happened to "Canned Fishing"? Didn't "Feed 'Em and Weep" air yet? What about "Little Papa"?

Most of the censored stuff seems to have been restored; so it's quite possible Spanky masquerading as Buckwheat will be shown.
It seems to be they're optically censoring stuff rather than just cutting scenes; In 'School's Out' the 'Blackface and Minstrel' on the cover of Bonedust's Blackface and Minstrel Joke Book is whited out.

The silent and early talkies are the best but of course they won't show those. Instead we'll get the teenage spanky in tight children's clothing shorts.

No, no, you're thinking of the MGM 'Our Gang' shorts. Those aren't in this package. These are the Hal Roach shorts; no silent but some early talkies.

The early talkies are really good. Arguably the best. Pups is Pups (1930) Free Eats (1934) first spanky short Night N' Gales (1937)
These should be good ones on 1/7/17. Too bad they air so early in the morning.
