I really think there should be a Little Rascals/Our Gang Hall Of Fame,as they were all quite talented and need to be in there.I'm sure that you all agree here on this one.
If you took a poll on which gang members you would vote to be in the Hall Of Fame, which gang members would you vote for? And I'm mainly going by on talent, and not on popularity as far as who is the most recognized, that alone would leave out quite a lot of gang members, because we all know who was the most recognized. That still doesn't mean that they were the most talented members of the gang, just because they are the most recognized gang members.
But then I guess if you leave out the most recognized gang members, others are going to say and wonder why gang members such as Spanky,Alfalfa,Darla,Buckwheat, and Porky were left out,and not voted for.Anyway,I do think that it is a great idea for a Little Rascals/Our Gang Hall Of Fame.

Starting off, a Little Rascals Hall of Fame based on talent alone, and NOT popularity is a very interesting discussion. It's pretty obvious who my favorite rascal is. And leaving alone his popularity, to many I'm sure he wouldn't be considered the most "talented" rascal of all time. Anyway here is my top ten of most talented rascals.... 1) Allen "Farina" Hoskins 2) "Spanky" McFarland 3) Jackie Cooper 4) Tommy Bond (ability to play 2 different characters is a great accomplishment as far as I'm concerned) 5) "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison 6) "Richard" Moore 7) "Stymie" Beard 8) "Wheezer" Hutchkins 9) Joe Cobb 10) Darla Hood 11-20 will be posted tomorrow! (this is fun! )

My picks for the Hall of Talent:
1. Alfalfa 2. Jackie Cooper 3. Spanky 4. Butch 5. Mickey Daniels 6. Mary Ann Jackson 7. Stymie 8. Mary Kornman 9. Chubby 10. Farina
This, of course, is different than a list of favorites, which I just happened to assemble a few months back, making a top 20. So, just for the shoots and groons of it, here it is:
Farina, Mickey Daniels, Mary Kornman, Bonedust, Wheezer, Mary Ann Jackson, Chubby, Jackie Cooper, Stymie, Sherwood Bailey, early Spanky, Uh-huh, Butch, Wally Albright, Leonard Kibrick, Scotty, early Buckwheat, early Alfalfa, Porky, Muggsy

I apologize for bumping up a four year old thread; but this looked like fun. So here are the top 20 Rascals (in my opinion, of course) who would belong in a Hall of Fame. I based it mostly on popularity and overall impact on the Gang, not so much on talent (even though I think that every person on my list was very talented). So here it is (in order of appearence... sort of... maybe?): 1. Ernie "Sunshine Sammy" Morrison 2. Mickey Daniels 3. Mary Kornman 4. Allen "Farina" Hoskins 5. Jackie Condon 6. Joe Cobb 7. Mary Ann Jackson 8. Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins 9. Norman "Chubby" Chaney 10. Jackie Cooper 11. Matthew "Stymie" Beard 12. George "Spanky" McFarland 13. Dickie Moore 14. Tommy "Butch" Bond 15. Scotty Beckett 16. Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas 17. Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer 18. Eugene "Porky" Lee 19. Darla Hood 20. Billy "Froggy" Laughlin I debated whether to put Scotty and Dickie in there (both weren't in very many films, and Scotty had few "lead" roles throughout the series), but I did because they are fan favorites and their performances are very memorable. The Gang wouldn't have been the same without them. And I probably forgot someone really obvious... but oh well. ...and that's that.

This actually gets me to thinkin'. Does anybody know if there's a Child Star Hall Of Fame, and if any of the Rascals have been inducted? I'm thinking there isn't, or we'd have probably heard of it already.

Well I found this online: www.younghollywoodhof.com/ but I don't know how official it is. It's not really a "Hall of Fame," considering it lists a large number of American child actors/actresses. Almost all of the "Our Gang" children are featured. It's actually a pretty cool site. Quite impressive, considering they listed child stars as far back as 1908. And currently on the welcome page there is a little slide show of Halloween pictures featuring child stars, and I think Jackie Cooper is in a few of them. And Wheezer is on the home page as well. It's a very nice site and it looks pretty updated! And, just a side note, Peaches Jackson is on the site. She is Mary Ann Jackson's sister (even though most of you probably knew that already) and apparently she acted in the 1920's. I did not know that.

I came across that site as well, and I agree that it's well-made. However, I'd guess that there is one solitary person doing the inducting. I think if I were going to do something like that, the inductions would probably be done by committee - say, with at least 10 members voting. I'd probably also limit it to performers that did something notable prior to the age of 13. There could always be a separate HOF for teens, anyway. With that site, they even include performers that have reached their early 20s, which seems a bit besides-the-point to me. I'm impressed, though, that it covers performers from way back when.

What I'd also like to know is, why don't the Rascals have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame??

Good point. I think "The Little Rascals" should have a star as well. They should do it soon, while there are a few Rascals still alive to see it happen.
I think Jackie Cooper is the only Rascal alumni to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
