So after hearing all about how the Vivendi releases look better than the Genius set release I was wondering how many of you actually upgraded....

Not as many I as thought but you convinced me. Ordered the new volumes from Walmart at $5.00 a pop.
Did most of you insert the new discs into the Genius packaging?

This came from an Our Gang Facebook group member's 8 disc set. Note that the booklet errors from the initial Genius set have been corrected - the old release mistakenly had images of Donald Haines and Dickie Moore respectively in Mickey's and Scotty's spots. Chubby's age may have also been corrected - I don't have my set on hand right now to confirm this. Was the boxed set given the full upgrade from Vivendi at some point, or is it still just the individual volumes? I still haven't bothered to replace my own set. Also, did Vivendi bring the missing footage from "Bear Shooters" and "Washee Ironee" back in, and fix the cropping issue on "Lazy Days?" i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab319/thelostreasures/curse_zps48sv6aqj.png

What I have are the 7 individual 2011 RHI/Vivendi reissue discs. On these are the missing footage versions of BEAR SHOOTERS (1930), and WASHEE IRONEE (1934), plus LAZY DAYS (1929) is still cropped. I cannot speak for the 8 DVD sets, although I tend to assume the content on the RHI/Vivendi discs in those sets would be the same. By the way, that whole "Curse Of The Rascals" really irks me! In my opinion, those descriptors really do the legacy of the Little Rascals alumni a real disservice, especially for Stymie, who actually reformed, and his last years were both happy and productive! What was so cursed about that? Finally, Robert Blake and George Sidney were in no way associated with the 1929-38 Hal Roach 'Rascals' shorts, so why are they mentioned as a Little Rascal/Rascal's director? With all due respect, why, in fact, are they mentioned on this set at all? Anyway, I've said my piece! CHEERS!

Thanks a bunch, Tony!
Definitely agree about that "Curse" nonsense. Would have been more positive if they described the kids' post-Our Gang career paths (i.e. Alfalfa's movie roles, Stymie's TV work).
As for Blake and Sidney, perhaps they were thrown in for the sake of having (somewhat) big names for the newer viewers.
