Hello visitors! As of September 19, 2003, this new website is still fairly new as long as search engines have not yet picked up on www.thelittlerascals.net and including them in their directories. I'm working on dmoz.org and others to get this site included in their listings. I'm also still waiting for a response from world-of-movies.com. Thanks to those three that have signed up to use this message board. Hopefully in the near future when this site can be found at google.com, yahoo.com, etc, we'll have more visitors, members, and posts to read. Take care! Your webmaster, Mark

Hi there. I too am a Little Rascals fan and am collecting every episode I can find on video and or dvd. My favorite boy rascals are Spanky, Wheezer, Scotty, Farina, Joe Cobb, and Dickie Moore. Alfalfa is okay too. As for the girls, my faves are Darla...#1, Jean Darling, Dorothy, Mary, Shirley Jean, and Mary Ann. Shirley Jean Rickert has a website. It's Measureup.com Visit it, it's cool! I like this website as it's very well done. I hope more people take a liking to the original rascals. BTW, has anyone heard anything on any new movies of Little Rascals being made yet?
Thank you!

I'm glad I found this board! I was a big fan of Our Gang as a kid - probably from 1931 episode 101 (Teachers Pet) up until probably 1936 episode 148 (Pay as You Exit). I'm not really familiar with the silent era or the MGM years due to the fact they just weren't available at the library or Blockbuster. Around this time, my mom also had a copy of the Leonard Martin book, which I loved reading. My university has a copy, so whenever I have limited free time, I'll look at it to read up on the episodes I missed.

The show started as a series of film shorts shown in movie theaters before the main movie in the 1020's and 30's. They were originally called Hal Roach's Rascals, but became famous as Our Gang, after the title of the first short. When television became popular in the 1950's, they appeared there with different companies licensing them under different names. The name that stuck in the US was The Little Rascals, which is what people call them nowadays.

"Hal Rascal's Roaches," however, did not draw in the crowds, though obviously roaches played a part in a certain memorable episode.
