There was offscreen in the Miss Crabtree episodes, where the kids were making references to their previous teacher.

Do what now?
I've never heard of her before in my life, and she's never credited or mentioned anywhere at all. How do you know she was in Our Gang?

JF-
I never heard of any of the Artisan VHS releases being in EP mode, rather in Canada nor US. I believe all the Artisan/Hallmark tapes are in SP wherever you buy them.
I also happen to believe that *all* the Cabin Fever tapes sold as sets (1-12 and 13-21) are in EP because that way the packages are lighter and the tapes won't tear the outer boxes when picking them up. So if you want them in SP, you just might have to collect them individually. Try to find auctions on eBay with a full Cabin Fever collection that wasn't sold as sets and make sure with the seller that they're in SP.

You'll have to contact me on this message board by leaving me an instant message, and then I'll read it and send you an email. I haven't updated the site in a while and didn't get to fix the first few pages with the email links at the bottom.

I'm not as knowlegeable about the tape speeds as I wish I was, but here's what I know...
I read that sometime around the late 1990s, a company in Canada released the Cabin Fever videos in EP mode (does the bottom of the back of the video boxes say "MADE IN CANADA"?) and they were marketed in the boxed sets. I bought them all individually in stores here in the US and they were all in SP, but I did also buy the boxed sets recently on eBay so I could have the outer boxes and "backup copies". It turns out they were all in EP, like yours, so I had to keep my older SP tapes.

What you have is a film released years ago for home viewing. Excel re-titled their films to something else and most are butchered to last about 3 minutes long (100ft). I'm sure that "Baby Laundry" is part of "Baby Clothes" from 1926 if the "1924" printed on your box or film is a misprint. If not, it's another episode that is *not* lost, but I'm sure it's Baby Clothes.
Titles of the lost episodes are as follows:
-about half the footage from the first episode, "Our Gang" -Yale vs. Harvard -Edison, Marconi & Co. -Fair and Muddy -Growing Pains (oddly, I've seen a shortened version of this on eBay twice) -The Holy Terror
School Begins was a lost film for a long time until it was discovered recently, though it's in poor quality. I also have a friend in the UK who has a film collection of the series, and a few that he has are still lost and have not "officially" surfaced. They are reel one of Your Own Back Yard (reel two was donated to the Library of Congress in 1979), The Old Wallop (one of the very first three MGM silents, all of which are lost), the first episode, and among one or two other major rarities I can't remember. I'm hoping to receive professional VHS transfers of them all. I've already gotten all the footage known to exist of the first film.

We've already talked via emails that "Baby Laundry" is a few minutes of "Baby Brother" from 1927. I saw pictures from the film and they're definitely from scenes in "Baby Brother". The 1924 year on the label is wrong.

UPDATE:
After testing the new look, I've decided I wasn't happy with it and trashed the idea. I knew I would be much happier if the site remained the way it is now. The layout this site has had is as good as it gets, in my opinion. But there will be some slight changes for the better. The pages will be centered to fit right in the center of your browser, no matter if your computer's screen area is set at 1024X768 or 800X600. I'll also be changing a few pictures, rearranging them, revising the text, and the like.
So that should be good news. I'll also try customizing this message board in the future and see how that turns out.

"Our Gang Comedy Festival #2" was one of the first videos I got almost ten years ago. I consider this to be one of the best documentary videos (notice, not *the* best) for the reason it has "Shivering Spooks" complete, Giants Vs. Yanks" near complete, and parts of "Boys Will Be Boys" (retitled as "Carnival Time" in this TV version). It was the first time I had the chance to see the silent films, especially since it was marketed as "lost", which in reality, they were never lost. Though, they're still special and entertaining.
The "new cast" flick you see in the video was actually done in 1947 when Hal Roach decided to try to make another Our Gang-type series, which failed.
As for my favorite video... my favorite commercial video will probably be "The Little Rascals Comedy Classics Volume 1", containing six two-reelers. This is a VERY old release and I have fond memories of seeing the video for the first time long ago.
Though, my favorite non-commercial video is the one containing all nine of the MGM Our Gang shorts, which I have been trying to locate for many years.

Porkyfan,
I, too, have been looking all over the internet to find more information on Zachary, but all I could find was what's on IMDB.com. Perhaps he'll find this site one day and contact us with more information about himself. By now, he would be a freshman or sophomore in high school. As for the pictures, I made them all myself.

Hi there,
It is I, your webmaster. Glad the site was helpful for your research. I did one recently myself for college.
Keep checking back for updates! I'm currently working on individual pages for each cast member to include their bios and filmographies.

Hi everyone, TheLittleRascals.net is now listed at Google, and near the top of the "little rascals" search listings. I'm glad to see more visitors coming and registering to post on the board! Thanks for the compliments about the site. I continue to work hard adding more material (and finding time to it! here. Happy Holidays! Mark

Hello visitors! As of September 19, 2003, this new website is still fairly new as long as search engines have not yet picked up on www.thelittlerascals.net and including them in their directories. I'm working on dmoz.org and others to get this site included in their listings. I'm also still waiting for a response from world-of-movies.com. Thanks to those three that have signed up to use this message board. Hopefully in the near future when this site can be found at google.com, yahoo.com, etc, we'll have more visitors, members, and posts to read. Take care! Your webmaster, Mark
