Yes, Dickie Jackson was indeed Mary Ann's brother. He did pass away a couple of years ago according to Mary Ann's husband. He was much more reclusive than Mary Ann and had no interest in discussing his past for as he said, "I was only an extra". Mary Ann's sister Peaches Jackson is also deceased.

Okay, so the last I knew (which was several years ago), the list of surviving Our Gang players was as follows:
Peggy Ahern: March 9, 1917 Dorothy Morrison: January 3, 1919 Jerry Marenghi: January 24, 1920 Lassie Lou Ahern: June 25, 1920 Douglas Greer: May 21, 1921 Jean Darling: August 23, 1922 Donnie Smith: September 17, 1924 Mildred Kornman: July 10, 1925 Dickie Jackson: August 2, 1925 Dickie Moore: September 12, 1925 Jerry Tucker: November 1, 1925 Jackie Lynn Taylor: June 29, 1926 Dickie Jones: February 25, 1927 Joy Wurgaft: September 19, 1927 Philip Hurlic: December 20, 1927 Georgia Jean LaRue: March 14, 1928 Sidney Kibrick: July 2, 1928 Betsy Gay: February 2, 1929 Peggy Lynch: May 11, 1929 Payne Johnson: June 2, 1930 Annie Ross: July 25, 1930 Marianne Edwards: December 4, 1930 Billy Mindy: February 26, 1931 Laura June Kenny: June 8, 1931 Darryl Hickman: July 28, 1931 Patsy Barry: June 30, 1932 Jo-Jo La Savio: July 2, 1932 Leonard Landy: July 2, 1933 Mickey Gubitosi: September 18, 1933 Dwayne Hickman: May 18, 1934 Clyde Willson: May 7, 1935
I'm sure that number has dwindled since then. Might someone be able to tell me which ones have passed away, and if there might be other survivors I didn't know about?

Peggy Ahern, Douglas Greer, Jean Darling, Dickie Jackson, Dickie Moore, Jerry Tucker, Jackie Lynn Taylor, Dickie Jones, Phiip Hurlic, Marianne Edwards, Patsy Barry, and Leonard Landy have all passed. That being said, Dorothy Morrison appears to be the oldest living Rascal. Shirley "Muggsy" Coates was tracked down recently, so that's one to add to the surviving list. Don't know her birth info, though (the info currently on IMDB and the Our Gang Wiki might be inaccurate).

Here's the revised list:
Shirley "Muggsy" Coates (birth information unknown) Dorothy Morrison: January 3, 1919 Jerry Marenghi: January 24, 1920 Lassie Lou Ahern: June 25, 1920 Donnie Smith: September 17, 1924 Mildred Kornman: July 10, 1925 Joy Wurgaft: September 19, 1927 Georgia Jean LaRue: March 14, 1928 Sidney Kibrick: July 2, 1928 Betsy Gay: February 2, 1929 Peggy Lynch: May 11, 1929 Payne Johnson: June 2, 1930 Annie Ross: July 25, 1930 Billy Mindy: February 26, 1931 Laura June Kenny: June 8, 1931 Darryl Hickman: July 28, 1931 Jo-Jo La Savio: July 2, 1932 Mickey Gubitosi: September 18, 1933 Dwayne Hickman: May 18, 1934 Clyde Willson: May 7, 1935
Does all that appear accurate? Unless Scooter Lowry materializes at some point, it looks like we're down to only twenty living Gangsters.

On an IMDB page about Shirley Coates, it says she was born in 1927. Also on the Our Gang wiki, it says the same and also that she died in August 1979. However, I don't know how trustworthy the information is.

However, I don't know how trustworthy the information is. The death info is inaccurate. It was based on a woman whose married name was "Coates." I still don't know about the birth info.

1927 does appear to be the correct year from a cursory glance. Sadly, it's not easy getting vital dates changed on IMDB once someone has put one in without some corroborating evidence, but I'll see what I can find.

I goofed a bit. The death info on Shirley is what was for a woman whose married name was Coates. The birth info could very well be correct.
From a contributor to lordheath.com:
"I located a SHIRLEY ALICE COATES, born July [or Sept?] 28, 1927 in Canada. She married a Donald Charles Hartshorn in 1946.
I also found a SHIRLEY ROSE COATES who was born 1 October 1930 in Chicago, IL. She married a Robert Gus Beach in Los Angeles in 1951. Unfortunately, I cannot find this Shirley in the 1940 Census."
I'd recommend getting in touch with Brad Farrell, as he's the one who tracked her down last year.

Sadly, Lassie Lou Ahern has left us.
Shirley "Muggsy" Coates (birth information unknown) Jerry Marenghi: January 24, 1920 Donnie Smith: September 17, 1924 Mildred Kornman: July 10, 1925 Joy Wurgaft: September 19, 1927 Georgia Jean LaRue: March 14, 1928 Sidney Kibrick: July 2, 1928 Betsy Gay: February 2, 1929 Peggy Lynch: May 11, 1929 Payne Johnson: June 2, 1930 Annie Ross: July 25, 1930 Billy Mindy: February 26, 1931 Laura June Kenny: June 8, 1931 Darryl Hickman: July 28, 1931 Jo-Jo La Savio: July 2, 1932 Mickey Gubitosi: September 18, 1933 Dwayne Hickman: May 18, 1934

Oh, is that a new development? I'm sad to hear that another Gangster is gone.

We're sure they're still alive? I honestly don't remember what sources I had for these. Year old post! I will say that Dorothy Morrison passed away sometime last year. Yeah, I'm aware that no online source indicates this, but Brad Farrell (the blogger at catsafterme.com who has tracked down a handful of the Our Gang kids) confirmed it. I trust his word.
