Just wanted to let any and all Little Rascal/Our Gang fans out there know that Mary Ann Jackson the straight banged, freckle face little cutie is STILL ALIVE at age 88 regardless of what the internet may say. She is my grandmother, I should know. This is a recent picture of her. She currently lives in Arizona and she is still a little spitfire just as she was in her acting days. If anybody has any questions about her, please feel free to ask. Thank you. Tina Attachments:

I'm not completely convinced that this is Mary Ann Jackson from the Our Gang films. Sorry, but for some reasons, I'm just not so sure...

Thanks for confirming that (although I was pretty sure Mary Ann did pass away in 2003).

I so want to believe people when they say their relatives were child stars but it gets very difficult to do so sometimes. My grandmother was Nottingham England's very first movie star. But I've got the newspaper articles, and other data, to prove it. If we could see some clippings, interviews, etc. I'd be more inclined to believe. And we need to take into consideration, too, that some of our beloved "elders" may not be thinking as clearly as they used to. I say take the post with a grain of salt and if the OP is adament about her grandma, she'll come back here with more information.

Keep in mind, too, that Mary Ann was in the gang during the years when cities across the country would have search contests with local kids appearing in an 'Our Gang' film - that is, a locally-made film that wasn't officially part of the series. The kids would be selected for their resemblance to the actual Our Gang kids, so there would have been a 'Mary Ann' character among them.

I believe the post about Mary Ann still being alive at 88 and in Arizona. Back around 2002 she was is Arizona because we met her and she helped us find a place to buy. We got to know her pretty well. What a great Lady. She even gave us a picture of her on the show and we still have it hanging on our wall. We think of her often.
