That exist anywhere in the world? I thought I had heard about one somewhere in The Dakotas somewhere quite awhile back, but I never could find out for sure or verify it.Does anyone know of any Rascals fan clubs that we can join,if we wanted to join one or some? Please respond back and thank you.

I have no idea. But if there was a fan club, I would want to join!

I had one when I was younger (about 14 years old, around 1984-85). I even mailed out a quarterly newsletter. It was called "OGFCA", which meant "Our Gang Fan Club of America".

Rascalwatcher, that sounds like a great fan club! The closest the Gang ever really got to a long-running fan club were the various Sons of the Desert meetings around the world. Though mostly dedicated to the fantastic team of Laurel and Hardy, around 1978 Darla Hood proposed the idea of holding Our Gang reunions at the meetings. Sadly, she passed on before the first meeting was held.

Here is page one of four of one of the newsletters I printed. Please note that I digitized the actual home addresses and phone numbers of the gang in here. (I can't believe I actually printed those, but then again - I was 14 years old when I printed and distributed this.) Three more pages to follow. Attachments:

Page two. Please note that by referring to these films as "Halloween Shorts", I mean their release date occurred near Halloween. Attachments:

Page three. This would have fit on page two, but I think I was shooting for a four-page newsletter so I spread out the Halloween shorts (though they would have fit in one column). Attachments:

And page four of four - a word search! Find the 40 names of Our Gangers (including names of animal actors). I'm not sure if the scan picked it up or not, but I drew this on graph paper. Attachments:

Incidentally, I did find another issue I printed, from April of 1985. That one was actually typed (on an IBM Selectric typewriter, for those of us old enough to remember those).
I will upload that one at a later date. Enjoy this for now. This was my club. Incidentally, today I work with technical publications. I produce manuals using the Adobe Creative Suite library of programs. I can't image the newsletters I would have been able to put together had that technology existed 27 years ago.

Nice newsletter! Do you recall how long it took you to make it?

Nice newsletter! Do you recall how long it took you to make it? Thanks! I probably spent a few hours every issue, between deciding what to put in there, and whatnot - especially since the first few issues were handwritten. I didn't use a template; I drew the header logo every time. I measured it out with a ruler and divided by 5 (one for each letter), so that did take time. It did speed up considerably when I switched to typing! However, I didn't use the logo at that point. Affordable computers were still quite a ways off. Back then, a home computer cost around $4000 for something that would be a boat anchor today. Not sure what that is in 2011 dollars, but even without inflation, that would be a chunk!

Wow. A handwritten newsletter is something exceptional, for sure. Also, the information in the interview of Eugene Lee and about the release dates of the "Halloween shorts", information that would be relatively simple to find online today, would not have been nearly as easily accessible in the days before widespread internet use. Compiling all of that into a single resource , especially in 1984, was a significant accomplishment. The Our Gang word search is impressive, too. I've always wondered how those things are written.
Thanks for the scans!
