I don't know how many here are familiar with the TV sitcom "King of Queens," but... Since he dabbled in acting, I always thought it would have been funny if Arthur had mentioned that he had briefly been an Our Gang member. Those who know the show may think this is funny, maybe not...but I think it would have been good for a joke or two.

Also, in the early 1980s, there were a series of commercials for Jello Pudding Pops that featured "The Little Rascals". Of course, they were new kids playing the classic gang, and in color. Perhaps this is where the Bill Cosby rumor was started (the one that he bought the rights to the series). Here's a couple of those old Jello commercials. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV2FaqHg710www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4Cz9tAc9xE

I've never seen those commercials before. Is the boy with the sideways hat supposed to be Scotty? It's interesting they'd choose to use Scotty for that commercial... I don't think he was among the most well-known Little Rascals like Spanky, Darla, etc. And the kid who plays Alfalfa looks really familar to me...
By the way, those gelitan pops look really good!

Sure looks like Scotty to me. Perhaps his name shows up in another one of these commercials. And yes, those jello pops do look good!

Is it my imagination, or is Alfalfa played by Seth Green in those commercials?

The series MST3K occasionally referenced the Rascals in their pop culture assault on 'bad' movies:
I ACCUSE MY PARENTS and others, referring to the old-time theme music: "Are the Little Rascals going to be in this?"
CHEATING, a skinny, dark-haired kid answering a phone in a creepy mental hygeine short: "For depressing phone sex, dial 1-900-ALFALFA..."
JACK FROST, referring to an 'ugly stepsister' character: "Alfalfa's greatest role!"
SANTA CLAUS, twice, once when a group of boys are shown, another when they're specifically called "little rascals," the MST3K bots hum the 'Rascals' theme.
Realize not every old movie fan is fond of MST3K, to put it mildly, and not trying to start a fight. But I figured it should be logged.

Might as well also note, two ROCKY JONES, SPACE RANGERS 'movies,' MANHUNT IN SPACE and CRASH OF THE MOONS, were run through the MST3K wringer. The 'movies,' edited together TV episodes, co-starred a grown-up Scotty Beckett as Winky, Rocky's vaguely nerdish assistant.
More Rascals on SNL: Several times, Mary Gross played Alfalfa, the first time on a show hosted by Robert Blake which featured an Our Gang 'reunion.' Most of the jokes are predictable --Spanky's a fat slob who gorges himself on the food, Darla's a hooker, etc'-- but Alfalfa does get a very good line. Asked what 'he's' doing these days, Mary answers, in a flawless imitation of Alf's voice, "Ah'm singin' in Vegas with Lola Falana!" Another skit had Alfalfa, if I remember right, signing a contract with a media mogul (played by Joe Piscapo) and assistant who reveal themselves once Alfalfa's signed as Butch and Woim.
Oh, and one season of promos for the old ROSIE O'DONNELL SHOW had Rosie being confronted with kids critiquing her show while 'Little Rascals' music played in the background.

I just watched an episode of The Nanny when Brighton didn't want to date his classmate, he said that "she looks like Alfalfa"

Couple more:
Another MST3K episode has THE MAD MONSTER, featuring a grown-up Johnny Downs.
The old Jack Benny TV show would periodically have a grown-up Darla Hood as a guest and they'd do a send-up where cast-members dressed up as The Little Rascals. Jack was Alfalfa, Don Wilson was Spanky, Rochester was Buckwheat, etc.
And I remember an article from the satiric newspaper 'The Onion' about 'Our Gang Problem.'

Not of any great importance, but in Huntz Hall apperance on "David Letterman", Hall at one point briefly mentions why "The Dead End Kids"/"Little Tough Guys"/"East Side Kids"/"Bowery Boys" were so different from "Our Gang". www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3kjUf7U1yIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=7qN5LjT-Mq0&feature=relatedOn an off topic note, I wished Letterman would have stopped asking Hall so many questions about working with James Cagney and Ronald Reagan and instead asked him about what his costars were like. I would have loved to hear what he had to say about Ernie Morrison. I also recall seeing a parody of the Rascals on an episode of "Family Guy".

A 1970's-vintage song, 'Love Stinks' by, I believe, REO Speedwagon, opens with dialogue from an old Rascals short: "Hey, romeo! What about your promise to the He-Man Woman-Haters' Club?" "I'm sorry, Spanky. I have to live my own life."
The occasionally raunchy novelty band Barnes And Barnes sometimes alludes to the Gang. One song, I'm afraid I don't remember which, opens with an a cappella rendition of 'Just Friends, Lovers No More' in imitation of Tommy Bond, while random sound bytes in another song include one of the Barnes saying 'Remarkable!' in the style of the FORGOTTEN BABIES kid. Former child actor Bill Mumy (LOST IN SPACE) is one of the Barnes, and something of a Rascals fan.

"Love Stinks" was by the J. Geils Band.
