Spanky wears the beanie best Darla's pretty in her dress The kids go off to hunt some bears Stymie's snoring in his sleep Alfalfa keeps his cowlick peaked It never goes down Our Gang--Little Rascals in the street Our Gang--in the movies back then
The gang is quite a crowd They always put on talent shows Alfalfa sings off-key and loud They live in a small town Nothing ever brings them down The Depression's not around
Our Gang--life was simple, life was sweet Our Gang, in the movies back then Our Gang--could never understand Buckwheat (Something tells me that he's got marbles stuck in his mouth) Our Gang--in the movies back then
Butch is always such a jerk He stuck a bullfrog down Alf's shirt Such shenanigans at school! Wheezer's sick; brother is pissed He's now got to babysit And grease his throat
Our Gang--the teacher was Miss Crabtree Our Gang--in the movies back then
Back in the '30s, man, kids weren't so sophisticated and They would go to junkyards for their playtime Such a happy time They didn't take an acting class, but in the flicks they did surpass Wouldn't you say no one could act like Farina? I say "Yeah!"

If she wasn't blonde, this Disney-er could easily have been Darla, given they both had a taste for feather boas. In the end, she merely gets the "Shirley Jean Rickert of the 1990s" award.

I found in JHS that even kids who weren't particularly big Rascals fans still knew that famous line.
Perhaps they all had an Uncle George, or knew something about technocracy in Borneo.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if people picked up the saying from other movies, TV shows, books... or even their parents. It seems so many have paid tribute to that line. By the way, that’s our pal Billy West as the titular Doug, a rare non-whacky role for him. Just goes to show how talented of an actor he really is.

When Jerry and Gary Lewis sang "Sonny Boy" together... "Thank you, Alfalfa." www.youtube.com/watch?v=jliPIgXykE0Shame things turned out the way they did for Jerry's (real) Kids... but that's another topic for another time.

Some Alfalfa sightings? First this random Muppet sitting behind Bert and Rick Moranis in this amusing Sesame Street bit ("Two bowls of hot water, please.") He spends much of the skit with just the cowlick visible, but pops up at 2:51. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIAu7KPWco4Then there's this kid in one of these fun Nickelodeon bumpers at 2:49. Slightly unrelated but these spots are probably the reason why I like doo-wop music so much. They're all pretty darn catchy. youtu.be/o-UuIQDwavA?t=169

Did a Google search recently and discovered there was a 'Little Rascals' Bingo Game released in the 1950's in the early days of the series' rediscovery by kids. From what I could tell, the Bingo cards had, rather than numbers, Rascal-faces on them, and the one who collected a full line won.
Also, there seem to be a great many Spanky's bars and hobby shops.
