Just an update about one of my hobbies....16mm drive-in intermission films.
Working with animator Marv Newland, we just re-released after 40 years his cult classic 90 second short Bambi Meets Godzilla in 16mm film for collectors a couple of months ago. 35mm prints will follow this spring.

One more little update on the crazy hobbies....
We just sold a portion of this footage (since I'm the one who shot it) to It Only Hurts When I laugh. The show is aired on TRU t.v.
They will only be using the "good stuff"

So, what we're seeing there is law enforcement destroying a bunch of illegal fireworks, right? That was quite an explosion.

Law enforcement no, illegal fireworks actually no.
There was the local fire department on hand just to watch & verify everything was destroyed. To make it short, what was destroyed was a couple of truck loads of fireworks that either were bad or didn't meet safe & sane standards. I worked for one of the fireworks companies involved in the destruction at the time. We were hoping most of it would burn before the detonation...too bad there was soooo much bad product in the pile. It was a hell of a mess to clean up.

Walking, sketch art, reading, radio listening, and watching Rascals and Stooges films, especially before some Lifetime movies.

Collecting and showing 16mm prints of pre-1950s films including, of course, Hal Roach comedies. In June I'm doing a film program of short films for a local Optimist club. Among the films we'll screen are Our Gang's "Mama's Little Pirate," and Laurel & Hardy in "Wrong Again."
American popular music from the turn of the 20th Century. There are some great songs from that era that are never heard anymore and that's our loss. I enjoy bringing some of them back to life by performing them for any group that will hire me.

I go through hobbies like a fire through brushwood and once I've moved on to something new I rarely ever return to things I used to do. Currently I mostly mooch around online, buying Little Rascal related items on eBay and buying DVDs and books on Amazon. I write poems and short stories, when the mood takes me, I post things occasionally on a couple of blogs and post things more often on my tumblr. In the past my hobbies have included, archery, angling, riding bikes and motorbikes, painting, drawing, keeping ferrets, walking, collecting boomerangs, coins, stamps, old bottles, visiting stone circles and standing stones and a whole load of other things that dunn immediately spring to mind.

I don't actually have any hobbies as such. I read quite a lot but not to the same extent that I did when I was a kid. I watch movies probably three or four times a week, whereas not so long ago I'd probably have watched that many per day. I buy things that I collect on eBay and elsewhere but I'm trying to cut back on that too, because it's costing me too much money and I've got nowhere to put half of the stuff that I buy. I don't 'do' social media or blogs. Mainly I listen to music, for most of my waking day, but although I really do enjoy music I also do it partly to reduce extraneous noises, which I'm very sensitive to. Oh and I like Tommy Bupp, a lot. But does that count as a hobby or just an obsession?
