Not familiar with Arcade Fire or Michael Buble, but I like most of the others you listed. Never got into James Taylor much, but the remaining artists are all on my iPod.

Those who like Pink Floyd and the Beatles, there is a band that has been around since the 90s, called Radiohead, that has a few albums that sound very inspired by them, especially Pink Floyd. The one album is called "Kid A" and the other is "Amnesiac."
I own "Kid A" and it's avant-garde and very different (it came out in 2000); it reminds me of Pink Floyd. I've only heard clips from "Amnesiac." It doesn't sound as avant-garde as "Kid A" but from what I heard, it's quality music in my opinion.

I like big band music of the 30's and 40's and also old-time country music from the Appalachians which I collect. Also I like some jazz; I especially like Billie Holliday! I like SOME bluegrass but I'm not an avid fan of that style. I guess I could say I like some of all types of music but would have to admit to being somewhat of an "Old Fogey"! Oh, I almost forgot: I just love Western music and Western Swing, but don't hear it nearly enough these days!!

So, if you're a fan of Western Swing, can we assume that Bob Wills goes into your CD player from time to time? I've accumulated quite a lot of 20s/30s/40s music as well. I think the Beau Hunks and Leroy Shield is what got me started on that.

Bob, I put together 3 CDs of the 1920s/30s/40s. I did each of them one at a time. Each CD is divided into those 3 decades (first seven or so songs from the 20s, then the 30s, and then the 40s).
After listening to a bunch of clips on Amazon and iTunes, I picked the catchiest, most memorable sounding songs from those three decades... including "Song Of India" by Tommy Dorsey in 1937, "Side by Side" by Paul Whiteman in 1927, "Bounce Me Brother" by The Andrews Sisters in 1941, etc. If you were interested, I could send you those three CDs in a zip file over yousendit.com or a site like it.
My mom loved jazz very much and played it a lot in the past, so I was exposed to this type of music since I was born. It wasn't until a few years ago when I seriously started to listen and collect mp3s to find the best ones. The music on the Little Rascals also helped a LOT with my interest in vintage jazz.

Sure, that sounds great! I don't think I've heard "Bounce Me Brother" before, and I've got a couple of Andrew Sisters CDs. I think I've heard "Song Of India," but not necessarily Dorsey's. Every song was released by five to ten different artists back then. Thanks.

Yep, Bob, I have several CD's by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. There were other good western swing bands of the 30's and 40's which I also like. These include The Tune Rangers, Milton Brown and his Musical Brownies, Jimmy Revard and his Oklahoma Playboys, Cliff Bruner's Wanderers, Al Clauser and his Oklahoma Outlaws, and several others. I'll especially mention Al Clauser : I enjoyed the appearance of Al and his Oklahoma Outlaws in the Gene Autry movie "Rootin' Tootin' Rhythm". Also it was with Al Clauser's group that Patti Page got her start. I believe Pattie is now selling maple syrup up in New England, although someone may prove me wrong about that.

Christina war we all know who won that... Britney can't sing and her music career is over but I bet you Christina will pick upo where she left off.. This girl is pure talent and a hottie too!! It was this 2007 Grammy performance of the James Brown tribute, "It's a Man's World," when her fans labeled her as a "legend". www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh2Yxp6q2h0Her other great performances: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njph0QyXcKswww.youtube.com/watch?v=3KEAD2dzDREI love this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh_V1zLsj_4This is all coming from a guy who listens to Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal

I love that "I Got Trouble" video! Have you seen her "Save Me From Myself" video that she made exclusively for her fans? She waited to post it on her website the day her baby was born as a gift to her fans. It was only available online, not on TV. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYxmS4UNrWYHer first Back to Basics performance was THE performance besides the 07 Grammy one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGxIax-p5oI&feature=relatedAnd yep, coming from a guy that listens to music from the 1920s up to today, with favorite artists including The Beatles, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Pink Floyd, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, etc.
