Does anyone know the whereabouts of Donnie "Beezer" Smith? I always thought he was so cute always in his little toboggan! If he is still with us, does he have a website or email address ? Since he was only in 3 episodes I believe, he is not written about nearly so much as most of the other "Our Gang" kids, but It would be a delight to contact him if this is at all possible!!! jaallengip  |

Someone else may know more, but the last I heard anything about Don Smith was back when his brother Jay R. Smith was horribly murdered in Nevada about 5 years ago. I want to say he was living in California at the time, but I'm not sure I trust my memory on that.

Some information about Beezer was posted on the Our Gang Wiki: " Donnie Smith AKA Beezer also knows as my Dad is alive and doing very well in Dade City Florida. Dad raised 7 kids me being the oldest. He is in excellent health and a barrel of laughs. He was deeply saddend by the death of his brother JR back in 2002. Not only is he the last living member of his family but also the last living member of the old Our Gang troupe. My Dad does not talk a lot about his time in the movies but he does chuckle about the fact that he was fired at the tender age of 5 because he didn't like the director To know my Dad is to know a great man...dedicated to his kids and dedicated to his life partner Mary. Much of that information lines up with what was posted by Stardanceraz here on the boards in 2005. Stardanceraz said that he (or she, the post wasn't gender specific) is the offspring of Donnie Smith. Here is the original thread: littlerascals.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=234&page=1 From the new information, the only part that I had never heard before was about him being fired when he was five years old. Donnie Smith isn't the last living member of The Gang, but I'm happy to see additional indications that he is still alive. |

When I was in contact with Jay R. Smith (I have a few letters), he had long since lost contact with his brother. I don't know if they had a falling out or ever mended fences, but it ended my quest for information on him right there.
