Do you have a set-top DVD recorder (like a VCR)? They're pretty cheap these days and it's the easiest way to convert them (after you learn how to work the recorder) No, I don't have one of those yet. I'm eyeing a Sony DVD/VHS recorder right now. But, I'm not sure if the "Budgeting Director" will approve it. LOL!!! ;D I guess that would prove the easiest way. I could feed the VHs signal into my Mini DV camcorder, and then send those "clips" into iMovie and make actual chaptered segments in iDVD. But, that could get a little complicated - not to mention prove to be a memory drain on my computer. Thanks!

I only discovered Our Gang around October 2012 and I'm just beginning my collection. I've got the seven separate RHI 'Little Rascals' DVDs, which cover the Hal Roach soundie period. I've got the MGM set with the remaining 52 soundies on it. I've also got a 3 DVD set (The Best of Our Gang in color, The Best of Spanky in color and Superstars of Our Gang in color). I've got 2 DVDs of silents, Hal Roach's Rascal and also Die Kleinen Strolche (1927-1929). Oh and if it dunn count as swearing I'll also admit that I've got the 1994 movie too and a signed photo of Bug Hall I've got several more of the silents as downloads from the net. I've got a few books, including Darn Right It's Butch and a few other well known ones. I've got photos signed by Dorothy, Tommy Bond, Porky and some other recent ones, mostly with Alfalfa included somewhere in the photo. I've also got a signed photo of Scooter but mostly I concentrate on items related to Alfalfa and Harry Spear. I've got loads of photos of both of them including several vintage ones and two signed photos of Alfie. I've also got a lot of other Alfalfa items such as a T-shirt, postcards, a poster, three different dolls, several collectors plates and a mug. But there are so many more things out there that I want. The biggest problems are finding them and then paying for them.

I haven't really got a collection as such but I hope that one day I will have. I've got a few Our Gang DVDs and some photos (vintage ones as well as reprints) of Tommy Bupp, who is my particular interest. My only real Our Gang item is a signed fan card of Harry Spear. It's not a pre-printed 'signature,' it's hand written on the back. It was expensive (but that's why God invented credit cards) but when I saw it I though that it was probably my one and only opportunity to own something that scarce, so I bit the bullet.

Another person with no real collection, but I've got the Maltin-Bann book, Tommy Bond's autobiography, an interim silent-era Black kid autobiography, the Genius 'Complete Hal Roach Talkies' series, the MGM 'Our Gang' complete series, and a cheap documentary I picked out of the dollar bin a few years back.

I've got the same two books, plus 'Those Little Rascals' and the old 'A Story Of Our Gang' from 1929. I've got all of the talkies on DVD and I'm building up a collection of the silents as downloads, but I have a few of them on DVDs too. I've got some photos, mostly reprints but a few vintage ones too.

mtw12055 That's an amazing collection. Which DVD set would you recommend to get the highest quality silent-era episodes? For now, probably the Reel Classic DVD series. Unfortunately, there is no complete collection of the silents just yet.

Thank you.
I've downloaded all that's available on archive.org. Some reviewers of some DVD sets say they looked like the same quality that was on that site so I want to make sure I get the best that's out there before I order a big set.
I have two DVDs on order now that include Little Mother and Chicken Feed. They aren't on Archive or youtube yet from what I've seen.
I'll find out next week what the quality will be like. They only have 10 episodes each so that still leaves lots of others.
I've also ordered The Ultimate Little Rascals Collection (Legend Video) but they only have a couple of silent episodes.
I'm looking forward to being part of the community and have enjoyed the posts so far. Very informative.
