Wow, how wise for the company not to list the contents on their website or anywhere else.
Let's just hope the DVDs don't contain the same public domain films we've seen everywhere for so many years (Bear Shooters, School's Out, Follies of '38, Dogs of War, Derby Day, and Waldo's Last Stand). I'm hoping this 5 DVD set will contain some rare unreleased silents and a number of the later MGM shorts... you know, a good variety mix of all the different periods.
I've been meaning to update this website about the new release, but I have an extremely sick mother who's been struggling to regain her health all year.
I just got my copy of the Little Rascals Collection 2004. Here are the episodes. I haven't watched them yet so I don't know what the quality is like. I'll keep you posted.
Five-disc boxed set includes the silent shorts "Dogs of War" (1923), "Derby Day" (1923), "Stage Fright" (1923), "The Sundown Limited" (1924), "The Pirates (1923), "Mary, Queen of Tots" (1925), and "The Fourth Alarm" (1926); the sound comedies "School's Out" (1930), "Bear Shooters" (1930), "Our Gang Follies of 1938" (1937), and "Waldo's Last Stand" (1940); the gang's '50s TV reunion on "You Asked for It"; and the documentary "Kid Stuff: Inside Hollywood's Child Stars." 5 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
Thanks for the information! I'm waiting for my copies I ordered from someone on eBay.
It turns out to be mostly public domain films that are already available, except for Stage Fright... and "The Pirates", a retitle from obviously a reissue print. I think it's either The Bucanneers or Seein' Things. I bet it's The Bucanneers.
Prices are great and delivery is free. They have quite a selection but they don't give episode info on a lot of stuff. I'd be interested to know if any of the selections or boxed sets contain episodes that are not on the complete cabin fever or the new LR collection.
I did get the "Hal Roach's Rascals" double dvd set which seems to have a couple of the episodes from the 13-21 cabin fever vhs tapes. As I only have them on EP I can at least watch a few in a better mode.
Here are the specs on that set: Volume one includes: "Came The Brawn," "Official Officers," "Spook Spoofing," "Lazy Day," "Mary Queen Of Tots," and "Rascal-ographies." Volume two includes: "Hi Neighbor," "The Fourth Alarm," "Olympic Games," "Spooky Hooky," and "Hollywood Hall Of Fame."
If you recognize any of the others as having episodes that aren't on any of the 3 sets, I'd love to know. Thanks
