The possibilities would have been limitless:
"Cheddars Is Cheddars" "The He-Man Gouda-Haters Club" "Feta And Chevre, Inc." "Asiago Fright" "When The Munster Ripens" "Free Gubmint Cheesing" "Gruyere 'n Milk"
etc.

LOL, I generally preferred SCTV, but same deal there, with only Andrea Martin moving (occasionally) to the forefront with her memorable Edith Prickley. I actually prefer SCTV myself. Generally a more clever show, and with more on a balanced cast feel. On SNL, there's always a sense that some cast members are getting more attention on the show than others. Andrea never fails to make me laugh. Catherine O'Hara was (is) great too, of course.

I know an Ontarian fellow from another board who had a relationship with O'Hara when she was younger, for which I am openly jealous of him. "P-HA!! Prickley knows!!!" John Candy was a genius; unlike so many of the SNL guys save Mike Myers, he carried it over to the big screen. "Planes, Trains..." was wonderful in large part because of him. Even Myers kinda faded after "shmoke-and-a-pancake?"

John Candy was only 43. He had a lot more to give us.

I've heard a rumor that Candy was set to appear as Spanky's dad in the 1994 LITTLE RASCALS movie, but passed away before anything could happen.
He did get to play Spanky in a SNL sketch, though. "The Village of the darned Little Rascals." Stealing the show in the skit is fellow ex-Second City player Robin Duke as Miss Crabtree. Yet another underrated female comedienne.

LOL, I remember that vaguely... they had those light-up blue eyes, IIRC. My son had a thing for the Muppets when he was tiny, and I was thus able to expose him to some true legends: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiQsaEdJ1aIYosh/Candy, Martin/Prickley, and (notably, since we've been talking about Scots folk), the great Gordon Jackson, the default cinema Scot for decades.

Ed Grimley/Martin short also appears in a segment. You know what this means, of course - Sesame Street and SCTV exist in the same universe.

What would have been a good stage name for me to use on an Our Gang TV series?
Something like Jane would fit.

Isn't it written in the Book of Kells (or some such) that all redheads have to be named BRIGID, or at least Bridget?
