There is a Mary Ann Jackson listed in the Kettle film. I borrowed it from the library just to see her (and Clifton "Bonedust" Young). It is definitely not our Mary Ann in the film. The Mary Ann in the film is about 15 or so. Bonedust is not there either. It was someone who doesn't even look like him. Tried to take care of it in IMDb. Guess it didn't work.

It takes a while for them to update stuff, once you correct them. I corrected several things on Mary Kornman's listing, although I have yet to tell them that she was not in the 1925 Charley Chase film, "Isn't Life Terrible?." I am holding out in the hope that there is some footage that is not included in the Kino release. I also got them to correct the Anna Mae Bilson listing for the first OG film.

The Smith Family series was another comedy series. I son't know a lot about it, but there is an episode on the Grapevine Sampler, which also includes Commencement Day.

I WAS PRIVILEGED TO MEET MARY ANN'S WIDOWER HUSBAND ON A CRUISE WE TOOK LAST NOVEMBER. HE WAS A CHARMING MAN AND PROUDLY SHOWED ME A PHOTO OF HER HE KEEPS CLOSE TO HIS HEART! IT IS TRUE, WHEN SHE WAS THROUGH WITH MOVIE-MAKING, SHE WAS JUST AS GLAD. I HAD JUST GIVEN A BOOK-TALK ABOARD SHIP AND HE CAME TO SEE IF MY EXPERIENCE WAS AT ALL SIMILAR TO MARY ANN'S. AFTERWARDS, HE TOLD ME I HAD "NAILED" HER SENTIMENTS. SO GLAD SO MANY OF YOU LIKE HER PERFORMANCE. LAURA JUNE

So I gather that the 'Smith Series' was strictly silent comedy. I wonder how many episodes were made. Are they available on DVD anywhere?

Oh, that's right, they don't sell DVDs, do they? Or at least not for every title. I think for people that collect silent comedies, limiting the choices to DVD isn't a good idea, anyway.

Nope- I'm just hassling Bob for offering up a site that sells VHS tapes, when the guy asked about DVDs.

There is a Mary Ann Jackson listed in the Kettle film. It isn't Mary Ann Jackson in the Kettle film; it's Sherry Jackson. Better known as Danny Thomas' older daughter (Terry) on the "Danny Thomas Show" (a/k/a "Make Room for Daddy"). IMDb now has it right, but Wikipedia's article on Mary Ann still needs correction.
