I just want to remember a girl who wrote to an "Evil Empire" and made a journey for peace. She would have gone far in television had not tragedy intervened. She's pretty in this Lime Street screenshot but her hairstyle - a updo on a girl - hasn't proved as timeless. Remembering Samantha Reed Smith (Elizabeth Culver on Robert Wagner's "Lime Street").
I've never heard of her of of any of those programs but then I live in England and I don't have a TV. In the picture that you've posted she had some resemblance to Darla, especially about the eyes.

Be aware that I am autistic, so my mind does not work in the same way as the minds of the majority of other people. I have a tendency to do things differently and to react in unexpected ways to situations. I may come across as quirky and eccentric or just plain weird. I am very literal and prone to 'black and white' thinking.

Buppster Yeah, If they'd made a Our Gang movie in the eighties, she'd have made a pretty older Darla.
Samantha was charming, urbane, cosmopolitan and comfortable in front of a camera. Had a little girl from the Deep South with a hick accent tried to write to the Soviets like Samantha did, I doubt she would have caught on so well with the media.
