Okay, I'm curious, when it says deleted member under a member's name does that mean that they left of their own accord, and voluntarily closed their account, or does it mean that they were kicked off the site? Maybe it depends on the former member and sometimes it was one of those reasons and sometimes the other? I promise not to make any posts about bare f**t.

I'd imagine it varies. We've joked about one former poster who had a morbid fascination with Spanky's mom losing her dress in 'Beginner's Luck' and there was another guy who was looking for members for his spanking fetish site. Those two were definitely creepy.

I suppose that's one of the downsides of being a fan of a series that included a character called Spanky. We really should be very grateful that Stinky really wasn't a member of Our Gang or I dread to think the sort of people who might have been attracted to a name like that.

Yes, sadly there are people that are fans of a series about kids for all of the wrong reasons. But most of the fans aren't weirdos, as far as I can tell.

I think that perhaps the spanking guy wasn't actually a fan of Our Gang at all, he'd simply misinterpreted the name of one of the characters as being in some way connected to his own area of interest and had mistakenly thought that fans of 'Spanky' might be interested in 'spanking.' Similarly from what I've read about the other guy, his interest seemed to be exclusively in the cartoon version of Darla, and specifically her feet, he had no interest in the real live action Our Gang shorts at all. |

No, that's a different guy. The one I'm talking about was OBSESSED with 'Beginner's Luck.' In fact, he created a host of sock puppet accounts so he could discuss and debate the scene at length.
And no. The series has had enough spanking scenes that someone with that particular fetish would probably at least know about it. If I remember right, his avatar was a rear view of Spanky over Johnny Arthur's knees from 'Anniversary Trouble.'

Yes, I suppose that there were some spanking scenes in Our Gang, probably more so in the pre-MGM days, but I never paid much heed to them so they didn't really register in my memory.
Now that you mention it, I think that I did see some older posts about Spanky's mother's dress coming off in Beginner's Luck but I didn't pay much attention to those posts, as it wasn't something that held any interest for me.
